To avoid any confusion due to the name and the title (sorry, the Potterhead just couldn't help himself): where it says Lily on it, there is only Lily in it.
DENN: the German Lilie becomes the English 'Lily'... so far so good... the German lily of the valley becomes the cute 'Lily of the valley' - perhaps because, from a biological point of view, the little bell used to belong to the lily family (Liliaceae)? Nowadays, however - millionaire friends beware - it is classified as a member of the Aspagaraceae family.
Be that as it may - anyone looking forward to lilies will be disappointed, as the lily of the valley and jasmine are the main protagonists here.
To complete the confusion, Floris has the fragrance
Lily of the Valley, which reads almost identically in the pyramid except for the citrusy top note. Unfortunately, I have not yet been able to get hold of a sample for a 1:1 comparison. Should I manage to do so, I will add a direct comparison to the review.
i find
Lily to be quite linear. With the 'dewdrops', I briefly considered whether I should feel like I was being made fun of - next up is 'Lufthauch' somewhere... Our Mogel-Lilchen offers soft jasmine, fresh lily of the valley including a little green foliage on cuddly musk with cedar garnish. It's nothing groundbreaking, but it's beautifully soft and harmoniously composed, no headache, it wraps me in a white and green floral shawl and feels very feminine and elegant. The fragrance remains dominated by the white flowers.
Lily reminds me a lot of
Viper Green, only a little softer and not quite as green. Viper Green has an 80/20 possession distribution and I also see Floris' Lily more on women and not really on men. I would classify 'Lily' as a spring and early summer fragrance. Well, on the island, summer doesn't usually get as fifth-hell-circle-like as in some places in Germany, which should result in a longer wearing period.
The bottle is classically simple, very heavy, high-quality and elegant. The name of the fragrance is also embossed on the side of the bottle... really pretty!
And to close the circle to the headline: the husband sniffed and grimaced, he and lily of the valley will probably never be friends again in this life. Yelping a slightly agonized "Do you still think the devil's stuff is so good?" he only half-heard my quietly mumbled reply: "Always..."
