Hello dear perfume lovers,
This is more or less the message about
Mister Colonia from a certain gentleman since last night on YouTube.
I tested it today. In fact, I had it on my list for a while, but after the recommendation, I thought: "Wow, my sample is finally arriving today!!!".
However, we need to be honest and keep the well-known church a bit in the village.
The scent is good, but to be clear, in my opinion, it is in no way a true fougere fragrance. It leans more towards a Nimm2 lemon musk scent. After about 30 - 60 minutes, it becomes a bit "darker," which gives it a slight vintage direction. Is that bad? Not really, if you like it, but unfortunately, it doesn't quite match the description of the aforementioned YouTuber.
I cannot assess the quality behind it, as I, like most consumers, neither produce perfume oil nor work in the industry to form an opinion about it.
The longevity is advertised as being longer than that of "Beau de Jour (Eau de Parfum) | Tom Ford," but unfortunately, it is below average weak.
On my skin, it lasts a maximum of 5-6 hours with very moderate projection (which certainly cannot be attributed "only" to my skin).
In contrast,
Beau de Jour Eau de Parfum is a beautiful, classic fougere, with lovely lavender and a warm woody base, and on me, it has a longevity of at least 8-9 hours and quite good projection.
Therefore, for me, the price-performance ratio is absolutely not given (niche house or not).
I find the comparisons between niche houses and designers to be completely exaggerated... it's not like designers only work with synthetics and niche houses only handle the finest ingredients. Total nonsense (in my opinion). For me, a "cheap" niche house is also not worth it if the performance is absolutely not right (no matter how much I like the scent). Then I might as well save my money xD!
In conclusion, it can be said that you get a fairly good "fougere-like" scent, which has rather weak longevity/projection.
PS: a really great and similarly affordable alternative is clearly "Pour Homme | Grauton Parfums," which is definitely much more interesting and delivers a far better performance than this one.
