Neutered but still best in show
Jicky's opening is sweet and fresh, intensely citrus, with fresh-mown hay, a tiny hint of rosemary, and, I think it's worth noting, nothing furry or fecal. The citrus has a really impressive longevity, perhaps helped along by bright citrusy lavender. Eventually some well blended florals, buttery orris root, spices, sandalwood, leather, and vanilla are revealed. And maybe the littlest whiff of fur, but this kitten is so completely house broken, you barely know she's there.
The animalic note that yowls for others is the smallest sigh for me here. A pity, since I love civet and most other skanky animalic notes. I definitely get the civet in the vintage EDT, and I love it, but there is depth and sweetness in the parfum that is not present in the EDT. The modern parfum is also less fresh, less spicy, with nothing of the barber shop. So for me, it is also more feminine. And there's more vanilla, but it's well blended, not overly sweet, and even wearable in warm weather. Layering the vintage EDT with the modern parfum improves both for me.
