Bright and lovely
wow this is so lovely on my skin. share femininity.so fresh slightly powdery citrus. like a veile wafting around you .
I thought this was not my thing at all but got a sample and boom instent attraction.
It is such a delightfull mix off light florals. vanilla and tonkabeen . the coriander is making the whole thing more interesting.. i am normaly not very found off this note , but in this it makes a big differense. there is also a definit cardamom vibe. slightly sweet and spicy at the same time . im shure it is the mix that makes me feal this way about it.

very very lovely. want a bottle

Well...
Recently, while searching for interesting Guerlain fragrances online, Secret Intention popped up on my screen. I had never heard of it before; Esther's comment is rather friendly-neutral, which should have made me alert, as her perceptions often align with mine. But an unknown Guerlain at an affordable price piqued my curiosity.

Neither the packaging nor the bottle really reminds me of Guerlain. And what can I say, the scent surprised me as well, because in Secret Intention I unfortunately do not find the typical Guerlain barnyard scent. Yes, I have to make an effort to even find a fragrance, as the perfume is very subtle. Not only is the chatter from Esther's coffee gathering top secret, but for my nose, the entire concept is too. I do not understand this Guerlain fragrance; it eludes me, and to put it mildly, I am disappointed. If only I had paid attention to the review of Secret Intention beforehand. But no... where Guerlain is written, there must also be Guerlain inside. Not so!

A top note where coriander and cardamom play a role should not be easy to overlook, but I only perceive notes that disappear very quickly, a hint of spicy-green freshness, very delicate and unsweet lightness, and then floral notes in homeopathic dilution, which are shamefully abandoned by the base. The scent also has a subterranean longevity on my skin. I can sense the tea, but lovers of green tea, Eau de vert, and similar perfumes need not even bother searching. It is not worth it. Nice is not good enough.

Just to have a rare Guerlain fragrance, I do not need to keep Secret Intention. I will place the bottle in the souk.

The Mayfly!
Two mayflies meet. One says to the other: "Girl, you look terrible! Are you sick?" "Oh," sighs the other, "I have my second!"
Secret Intention was probably not on the market for longer than - in the history of perfume - a felt second. Kankuro has already described in detail the adversities the house had to face. However, I must say that I love Jardin's de Bagatelle, Mahora, and the uncastrated Samsara, and I own all three.
I don't want to speak too poorly of "Secret Intention," because it's not that bad, but the scent could have come from house XYZ. It is not a great Guerlain fragrance. The godfather of noses, Jean-Paul, may have indeed had a secret intention, but perhaps it was so secret that he didn't even know how to blend the scent himself.
The spice orgy in the top note is absent. Only with a lot of imagination could I detect cardamom or coriander here. If anything, they are sweet seeds that go well with roast pork.
Even the flowers in the heart have been chased through the Thermomix, and they smell sweet and like pudding. Pamps for the toothless.
The base is ruled by vanilla and tonka bean, and a woody note refuses to present itself to me. Overall, it lasts quite well, but without any noteworthy sillage. A creamy pudding-floral scent. God yes, why not. Shrug....
What has been there from the beginning is a tea-like creaminess. Or should I call it a baby food note? Scratch head...

The Charm of So-Called Wallflowers
It is high time to champion this fragrance, which is undervalued. Secret Intension is a wallflower among its older, louder siblings from the house of Guerlain, which are praised here in the forum to the skies. It may be that Secret Intension is not a groundbreaking creation - but not every fragrance can be a stroke of genius.
Secret Intension is a delicate, aromatic floral scent with green undertones, a tiny bit citrusy, and carries the typical Guerlain DNA, even if it is not as pronounced as in other fragrances from this house. Right from the start, the delicate flowers of peony and jasmine emerge, accompanied by tea and a hint of coriander. The bergamot and lemon in the top notes are not really noticeable. At the beginning, the Guerlinade is not yet recognizable, but after about 20 to 30 minutes, it comes to the fore - albeit rather subtly. The lightly woody base carries the coriander-spiced flowers further, and the tonka bean adds warmth to them.
Unlike my predecessors, I do not find Secret Intension to be outdated and stuffy, nor unimaginative and boring. It is a fresh, cheerfully positive, and surprisingly modern, thus atypical Guerlain fragrance, which does not clash despite its noticeable sillage. If, like me, you work a lot with other people and often attend large events, but do not always want to wear close-to-the-skin scents, you come to appreciate such perfumes very much.

Ladies' Tea Gathering
Hm, a quirky scent. As a child, I loved it: black tea with lots of lemon and a bit of sugar. The selection of tea varieties in the GDR was not exactly abundant, to put it mildly. And Earl Grey was available much later in the money-sucking delicatessens, but I couldn't afford it. However, I received it as a gift and encountered bergamot for the first time.
This fragrance opens with a tea-like, bergamot scent, finely spicy - and very subdued, all ingredients discernible, yet extremely elegantly restrained. Fine ladies in an English country house gather to gossip about the latest village news, though they would prefer to phrase it more discreetly: No, the ladies are not gossiping - they are engaging in stylish conversation about the recent events in their surroundings.
The scent develops into an elegant, always very restrained oriental. The ladies nibble on tea pastries, the noble teacup in hand with the little finger slightly raised. The tea note merges with the flowers in the Art Nouveau vase on the tablecloth with fine lace embroidery. - Jasmine and peony are recognizable, very veiled. - No, none of the ladies spill or crumb. No one laughs too loudly. No inappropriate or even indecent words. No, they are truly fine ladies, whose noble restraint and discretion have become second nature to them. And they sit on the antique chairs until the base note of sandalwood, creamed with tonka, has faded away.
What the ladies have concocted remains unfortunately a mystery to me. Secret Intention. Top secret! Whether the neighbor has a love affair, the maid is pregnant, a marriage is to be arranged, gossip about the last wedding or the absent friend in the gathering is being discussed? Unfortunately, I don't know more. What a shame! - That was not quite comme il faut. But I don't belong to that circle, so I can say that.
Secret Intention is a fragrance of the finest quality, of noble elegance. Personally, I find it too restrained, too well-mannered. I miss a bit of flesh and blood!
"Secret Intention" reminds me a bit of "Malabar" by Crown Perfumery, also a discreet oriental, but one that reveals significantly more face and character. I clearly prefer the latter.

Starts fresh-green-lemony-everything is absorbed by overwhelming jasmine, it's too animalistic for me, base hardly comes through - sample tipped?

Too many scent aspects are swirling around here (chypre, soapy-floral, sweet, citrus) to then hide in floral mediocrity.

In 2001, this rather atypical, nice oriental Guerlain flopped for me; it felt a bit too sweet and indecisive. It lacks distinctiveness.
