Refined simplicity

When I bring the aroma to my nose, I immediately notice spicy green notes with added citrus. When I applied the scent to my hand, I noticed lemon, notes of orange and bergamot. But the aroma does not begin arrogantly, but calmly, freshly, a little spicy, and all this is accompanied by basil that came from nowhere, which I smell. Nutmeg and pepper opened up in the middle. The aroma becomes spicy, sweetish-woody and a little warm. At the end, vetiver, tobacco and tonka bean begin to smell. The aroma ends with a complex set of spices, forest smokiness, notes of prunes and caramel that are difficult to understand.

The best vetiver of all time.

For a long time, I had this fragrance as an EdT. I considered the scent to be classic, beautiful, but not particularly interesting. Nowadays, you could find many similar options that are even more complex, fresher, or more unique. That was until the moment I tried the EdC. In this formulation, the fragrance has so much shine and air. I have never tried a vetiver like this before. Everything you wish for in a good vetiver scent is packed into this creation. I also sense a slight animalistic nuance that I don't find at all in the EdT and that I particularly appreciate.

Modern Classic from 1959

I finally managed to get my hands on Guerlain's Vetiver Eau de Cologne.
My fragrance is 50 years old and shows no signs of aging. The box states the year 1967.

It starts off citrusy, then quickly becomes greener and reveals a rounded, soft tobacco-like vanilla note after about two hours; I can also sense a note reminiscent of orange spiced with cinnamon.
Unlike the Vetiver EdT, it is a classic cologne, subtle and not overpowering.
Furthermore, I find this scent softer and rounder than the modern EdT. The Vetiver is also not as dark in the EdC.

It suits all occasions - summer and winter - especially in the office with a suit and tie.
At least I feel very comfortable with this fragrance. It has been one of my favorites since our first encounter.

If it were to be launched today, this stylish charmer would surely have many fans.

It has definitely captivated me.

A burst of citrusy nuances , along with a very refined note of Vetiver ! more wearable than the EDT , feels more light and approachable !
