Oh, You, Amber…….eternally….
MY Faubourg!
1995, Frankfurt am Main, fragrance training, Clarins. Clarins distributed it back then, this beautiful scent.
Born from the sun, rolled in floral nectar, infused with animal warmth and filled in deep orange-golden bottles. That was Hermes, 24 Faubourg.
The bottle, a silk scarf from the luxury brand, beautiful. It was my signature, now alternating with Boucheron, which is not unlike it, just not as bright.
Pure perfume, Eau de Parfum, and Eau de Toilette differ slightly, not only in intensity. EdP and perfume are minimally darker, while the EdT is bright as day.
Maurice Roucel said he wanted to create "the perfect scent." I think he succeeded! Such a combination of lightness and depth without darkness, I have not encountered in any fragrance so far. I believe that is what defines it. Here we have the TRUE Amber again, which brings this depth and seemingly eternal warmth that settles on the skin like a beautiful tattoo…..
Oranges that conjure the sun, leaving not just a light, fresh scent trail.
A unique fragrance. That’s how it WAS. Not really describable - but experienceable, with the nose and the heart………
