Silent Night
In this silent night/
flakes fall softly down/
And bells ring again/
From afar and very gently.

From musk, wood, and cedar I have made my bed/
They send fragrant whispers/
To me dreams on their journey/
When I sleep in the night.

Gliding through clouds of musk, it will feel to me/
As if I were in a bath/
Full of warm chocolate/
It envelops me completely.

From the stars, foam flakes fall into the bath/
Milky creamy exchange/
Swaps with the chocolate/
Lait et Chocolat.

In all the sweetness, jasmine now scents heavily with anticipation/
As if flower petals were falling/
Here and there/
Very softly and from far away.

And above all, a star shines with great splendor/
And lets with its rays/
Light trickle into me/
In this Silent Night.

Merry Christmas to you all!

Short Chocolate Delight
Those who know me are aware that my professional life revolves around topics quite different from perfume. Yet even there, one occasionally gets olfactory experiences. Such was the case during my very first voluntary internship. I was fortunate enough to secure one of the coveted internship positions at one of the largest and most renowned automation technology companies in our country, and I had the opportunity to contribute textually to publications for their global clients. My joy was immense when my very likable supervisor informed me that I would also get to go out and experience the products in daily practice. And not just anywhere. No. We were headed to one of the most famous chocolate manufacturers in the entire country.

When I sniffed Lait et Chocolat, I was immediately transported back to that place. The intense scent of liquid chocolate beams me more than 20 years back and reminds me of that unforgettable day. But I don’t just smell pure chocolate; I also detect other ingredients. After all, various types are produced and packaged simultaneously there each day. Could it be yogurt chocolate that is being made right now? Or are we primarily dealing with the typical combination of milk and cocoa, which is particularly known through an Italian, unfortunately not very sustainable manufacturer, but which every producer makes? I can't pinpoint the individual components of this perfume, but the overall impression is skillful, as I stand just like I did back then in those hallowed halls, knowing that I can take home some of the coveted, affordably purchasable broken chocolate in the evening. The scent is very authentic and brings joy to anyone who delights in chocolate.

Despite the milky notes, Lait et Chocolat never drifts into a buttery territory, which I appreciate, though unfortunately only a few perfumers manage to achieve this. Also, a band-aid note, which milk scents tend to develop for my nose, is absent here.

But now we come to the big but: The fun is over faster than one can imagine. I have many delicate fragrances and love them, but here it truly ends after a very short time. My husband cannot perceive this chocolate dream at all, so it can't just be me. Where Sorriso, which I also love and own, can sometimes be a bit too much and too persistent for me, what I get here is simply too little. Otherwise, Lait et Chocolat would definitely have been a candidate for my wish list. But as is often the case: The most beautiful moments unfortunately pass by far too quickly. Just like that wonderful day in the chocolate factory.

A heartfelt thank you to FioreMarina for the opportunity to test this.

Milk and Chocolate… don’t even start counting calories…
Do you sometimes feel guilty when you devour larger amounts of chocolate? Because it usually goes the same way every time: You break off a little piece from the chocolate bar, nibble on it, and then can’t resist breaking off another small piece to keep snacking. This continues until only a pitiful remnant is left, which of course gets nicely wrapped up so that you can cry the next day about how little is left and how much you’ve eaten, even though you didn’t want to...

… and now you must be smiling because you’ve recognized this behavior in yourself exactly as described above, right? :DD

Well, I have to admit that it’s actually difficult to resist… but what can you do when you’re so weak-willed? :D *sigh*
It’s especially bad when you swear to do a bit more exercise the next day, and then end up lazily lying in a corner, of course with the kitten in your arms, who is sleeping so cutely that you become sleepy just by looking at it and even doze off a bit… :D

But let me get to the scent!

The Scent:
At first, the scent smells really like cocoa. But not like prepared cocoa, rather it smells as if you were to open a cocoa package and sniff the still dry cocoa powder, while you start to drool because you know you’re about to prepare something delicious (but please don’t drool into the package, ewwww!!! :D).
Only gradually does a milky note come in, which together with the cocoa smells like hot chocolate or warm/hot cocoa, which is pretty great!
Additionally, there’s vanilla, seemingly just to enhance the sweetness and softness of the scent, making it a bit powdery, but initially also a bit drier.
The milk becomes a bit more noticeable towards the base, while the sweet, chocolaty scents rise even more.
For me personally, however, the milk content is a bit too high in the end. This wouldn’t be so bad, but it smells more like hot or boiling milk, which gives off a scent I don’t particularly like; however, for those who have no issues with that, they will find a wonderful, chocolaty scent here, because overall, the scent has turned out quite delicious!

The Sillage and Longevity:
The sillage is actually quite good for a short while, so it pleasantly catches the attention of someone nearby. However, it also seems as if someone nearby is preparing hot cocoa rather than it smelling like a fragrance. Later, the scent becomes a bit weaker but generally remains in the above-average range.
The longevity is extremely high; the scent lasts a very long time, probably until the next morning, but I can’t say for sure since I went to shower in the evening… on the other hand, I could still faintly smell the scent on my skin even after the shower… and I am NOT stingy with soap, in case you were thinking that… hrmmm….

The Bottle:
The bottle looks high-quality but also a bit simple. It is cylindrical and clear, with a white label on the front featuring the logo and name, and the font looks quite nice. The cap is rectangular and transparent. As I said, it’s quite nice, but also a bit plain.

Hmm… there are many things that could be called sweet. Certain emoticons, cats, animals or baby animals in general (did I mention cats? :D), sweet women (no, I don’t mean you Parfumas, because you’re prickly, aaarrrgh…! :DDD), or also sweet things to enjoy, like chocolate, cookies, candies, chocolate, and more chocolate… *sigh*

He he he, yes, as expected, the scent has turned out to be a very sweet-smelling, chocolaty fragrance, which naturally leads one to wonder how wearable such a scent is, since it actually smells like hot chocolate. When you spray it on, it does smell great, but perhaps also like you spilled cocoa on yourself, which I can certainly imagine happening to you. No, I don’t want to annoy you by just claiming that you’re clumsy, because I KNOW that you are clumsy!

A dear friend of mine, for example, has the tendency to spill everything, but EVERYTHING, that she eats. It’s cute that she sometimes quickly looks left and right to see if anyone saw it, and yes, I saw it. Since she always gets herself messy, I actually just wait for her to spill something when we eat together, mu ha ha ha :D
So it could very well be that you might also be clumsy, although I don’t really know anyone else who is THAT extremely clumsy :DD

Anyway, the scent is good for use in autumn and winter, but probably more for personal enjoyment as a kind of relaxing scent rather than using it, for example, when going out, although you would surely smell delicious with it!

It’s definitely worth a try if you’re into milk and chocolate!

Coco puffs and something dry like cocoa powder or the last few crumbs of biscuits in a tin. Milky chocolate, not chocolate and milk. Linear.

Ultra-light Sorriso. Beautiful scent, but fleeting. I wish the chocolate scent were stronger, but I haven't given up on it yet :))

A hot chocolate with lots of warm milk. That's delicious, but I wouldn't want to smell like that all the time.

A glass of Kaba cocoa in milk or a cup of hot chocolate with whipped cream, please? Yes, bring it on! Mmm so delicious! Sweet. Like Nerocacao without coconut.
