not really great...
Not much to say here, this was the first fragrance I owned as a teenager. Cheap, pleasant, but also slightly forgettable. It does the job of being a light, inoffensive lemony fresh spray upon initial application, which settles into a sweet, almost powdery dry down. Not bad, nor ground breaking but that's about it.

Solid but unspectacular, and I mean really
The fragrance pyramid sounded totally exciting to me: Anise, pepper, sandalwood, and licorice - wow! Iceberg has a few decent scents in their range, and the drugstore discount has it on offer - so blind buy!

The first surprise with the bottle: I tugged eagerly and with anticipation at the silver cap like a fool until I finally realized that it wasn't a cap at all, but that the spray button is directly integrated and that there is a small spray opening on the other side. Okay, my foolishness and a point for the bottle.

The scent itself - well, let's keep it short: I can hardly perceive any of the wonderful components of the fragrance pyramid. For me, it's a very typical aquatic-citrus fresh scent from brands like Mexx, S. Oliver,
Esprit, etc., which you can find in any supermarket. Describing this scent as "solid but unspectacular" is a fair and generous assessment. The pepper note stands out the most. With a lot of imagination and because I've read that it should be there: licorice in homeopathic dosage - possibly. With a lot of fantasy. No, I won't swear to it. And I wouldn't stake my hand on the other notes either.

Somehow everything blends into a synthetic mixture, making it hard to separate the individual fragrance notes olfactorily. While it's okay as a whole, and you can certainly wear it, there's really nothing to discover here. To be honest, I had hoped for much more. Not that the scent is really bad, but I would just like to perceive more fragrance notes from the pyramid - even without imagination and fantasy.

tidy
On Thursday, my birthday is celebrated, and dear guests are expected.
Unfortunately, before the cozy gathering, there's always the unpleasant task of tidying up with cumbersome "heavy equipment".

But one also comes across surprising things.
A metallic blue box surfaces from the depths: Iceberg Effusion Man.
Oh dear - who did I buy this for?

The first spray shows me that I can indeed land this on some of my men, as Effusion is fresh - aromatic, effortless, and fitting for the tidying-up task - tidy.
The citrusy lime note lingers long, but lightly, well-adjusted to delicate floral notes.
Cedar and patchouli add a pleasantly moderate herbaceousness that remains transparent.
The pepper is lively and piquant without being scratchy.
I don't perceive licorice, but I don't miss it either.
The scent is coherent and complete for me as it is.

Definitely a good office scent, as a man feels perfumed without being overwhelming.
Perfect for everyday wear when one doesn't want to make a "fragrance statement" per se.
But some gentlemen may not want that at all - and certainly not at all times.

Everyday Fresh
Smells fresh, well-groomed, super everyday perfume.
Actually something that you have smelled a thousand times before.
It is not intrusive, rather subtly interesting.
Highly recommended as a gift, as I can easily imagine it on almost any young man (up to maybe 45 years old), the outer box also sparkles quite nicely. For large hands, the bottle is just about comfortable enough.
Don't get me wrong: this is something a man should definitely have in his bathroom cabinet, as it is nicely casual, allowing you to wear it for any situation without making a mistake.

Glad I decided to give it a try. I bought this online without first smelling it, so try it on at a fragrance counter before you get it.

Starts with a fruity grapefruit and aniseed blast with a tinge of apple, dry down comes in with woods in a light way, I don't get patchouli.

Every few weeks at Rossmann for a bargain price. Too weak, hardly any sillage, others do better in this price range. Tired freshness.

A classic everyday scent that definitely doesn't stand out. A bit fresh, a bit spicy, and overall quite subtle.
