Quality For Bargain Price
For some reason, Iceberg has become an insider's tip. Iceberg is located within the mainstream but their perfumes are often of considerable quality – and sometimes exceed those of the more well-known brands. For some reason these fragrances seem to be always offered as bargain buys. Twice Homme is available for ridiculously inexpensive 14 € per 125 ml!

The Iceberg fragrances always come to me as snips – and anyway, doesn't a fair price always make perfume smell just a little bit better? Twice Homme turned out to be a good buy: a hebal-citric gent's cologne – fresh and simple on first sight but with considerable complexness behind.

The top note contains beautiful citrus notes that unfortunately do not last too long. Quickly, Twice Homme becomes greener, and most of all, more powdery.

The dry powder reminds me very much of grape-sugar: the little shims of dextrose that you can buy at the drugstore or pharmacy. They provide a feeling of cool chalk or gypsum in your mouth when you chew them. Among the florals, the tagetes is traceble for me, with its rather dark and medical character. During drydown, Twice pour Homme looses touch with its citric top, and it gets mainly woody-powdery.

It is a matter of sympathy whether one sees a synthetic tendency among herbs, florals, citruses, powder and soapiness. I tend to deny that. For me, Twice Homme comes as an authentic Eighties' or Nineties' fragrance. This best of everything attitude is the basic structure of man perfumes of that times – very typical. Nevertheless, Twice Homme does not seem to be overladen with notes, and the citruses and herbs may play a part in that impression. I should place Twice Homme somewhere in between Givenchy's Gentlemen, the early Insensé Ultramarin and Acqua di Parma's classic Colonia.

Twice pour Homme could be a little bit stronger and with a better sillage. Al least, you can get it in a big 4.2 oz bottle, and so you can spray generously. This is okay for the light summer scent that Twice Homme definitely is. There is even a little gimmick at the flacon: The cap has two little grommets that sit on pins. You have to first twist and then pull.

The small prices really make me wonder what is going on. It doesn't look like that Iceberg is being discontinued – they launched a new gent's perfume recently (Burning Ice), again for very small money.

Two Times, Why?
It is quite bizarre the name Twice, isn't it? The best definition I found conveys "TWICE evokes an ideal world, full of desires and passions, where our dreams become reality. We live TWICE." Hence, Twice represent the ideal and real life, two facets of the same medal, the body and the soul, the yin and the yang, the masculine and the feminine. In a way, the opening reminds me of TL pour Lui Eau de Toilette. I recognize the same mentholated, balsamic, excessively soapy accords on top of an earthy base of patchouli. By this, I don't mean to imply that perfumes are identical, but that they have similar, very similar good vibrations.

Twice Pour Homme is an interesting fougère with a bold aromatic twist and a slightly classic touch, rather squat and manly, which opens wide with the solid and bright acidic notes of lemon, in abundance, along with something hidden inside that oozes and exudes slowly. Will reveal it soon after. Sour citrus quickly mixes with the surprising bitterness of marigold blossoms with a balsamic and fresh undertone of peppery mint leaves. There is a hint of natural dust for a while, and it almost reminds me of chamomile, but then the real powder creeps in. The exotic yuzu is never as sharp and strong as in Yuzu Man, L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme Eau de Toilette or Light Him Eau de Toilette; perhaps the rest of the blend is too strong and suffocates it, putting it in the background. I mainly get a bitter-sour, green and fresh spicy accord early on, lemon with a hint of mint. It's like squeezing fresh lemon juice onto chopped green herb leaves.

The heart has lovely soothing herbs that go well with dense flowers. The fresh, spicy herbs of tarragon and thyme share the scene with the dark, aromatic lavender. The blue-violet flower aroma is reminiscent of the dry thin spikes we store in the drawers. After a while, submissive jasmine hovers above the geranium-infused flowers. It is very light but adds just a hint of mystery to the already wonderfully warmed heart. Twice pour Homme continues its journey, grows, and radiates more and more. It is dense and rich and profound, and savoury. As a fragrance of the '90, I would not exclude the presence of carnation, which I seem to smell, and was so popular in that decade. The combination of indole jasmine and bitter thyme gives rise to the same elusive sensation that characterizes TL pour Lui Eau de Toilette. The middle stage turns out spicy and floral.

The warm base notes include a hint of lime to keep the freshness of this blend alive. This perfume is more than outstanding. It actually has a dark side to it that I like. It's dreamy and quite voluminous, yet incredibly comforting while still being quite grand. Although not mentioned here, there is something very powdery about the last trail, perhaps vanilla, coumarin, or amber, or it's just the creamy white mists of sandalwood. Musky, herbaceous, dusty, and earthy are the last traces left on my skin. White musk, dry vetiver, and dirty patchouli are so well blended that I get a wonderful musky, woody, and manly scent instead of their dominant note. And the dustiness takes the place of the initial acid soapiness.

In conclusion, Twice pour Homme is a semi-powdery, lemony and aromatic cologne, refreshing with a luxurious feel. Although I prefer to wear Twice pour Homme during the mid-seasons, in the cold winter months, the floral aspect is much more intense, together with the dense notes of amber and patchouli. I am wearing it even now in the cruel summer of 2022, and it also works well; I get loads of compliments. It differs from typical modern colonies, and I don't find it outdated, just vintage with an old-school vibe. It has excellent sillage; other people can smell the trail and moderate longevity. Half a day, I would say, on my skin, then it turns into a skin scent. That's it for the vintage bottle. Now I can't help but buy and compare this beauty with the recent reformulation.

I base the review on a 125ml bottle I have owned since August 2017.

Great times, great fragrance
I've first discovered this fragrance when I was 20 years old, in a small Italian fragrance shop in Como (highly recommend to visit this town) (15 euro for 75 ml, back in 2009). This fragrance to me smells great, not something made in 1995, the longevity is great 8h+ on me, when I where this I receive a lot of compliments.

Keep in mind that this is very citrusy type of fragrance. Don't recommend it in hot days of summer. Best use of this fragrance is colder days (spring, autumn or winter). For the price it now retails (under 15 euro/gbp) I strongly recommend this product.

Cheers

The Smell of Ten Grandfathers
In a word, fusty. Iceberg Twice Pour Homme is the smell of ten grandfathers, liquidated, and then boiled down to their essential aromas. This is not a bad thing if you enjoy a musty, chemist, vaguely sweaty sort of scent. Me, I hope to never smell this mature. The doom is present from the very beginning, although initially there's a sweet-spicy duo that cuts through the must, that makes it bearable. That disappears quickly, however, and by hour five, I'm over Iceberg Twice.

With that said, it's not horrible, just annoying, like a crotchety old man who keeps telling jokes that really aren't funny. If you hold out, it becomes moderately enjoyable towards the end of its life, where it evokes the feel of a well-accomplished older gent. I think the vetiver and lime are largely responsible for that, but the scent is well-blended, and so all I get are impressions and not individual notes.

Projection varies from one to two feet, and you can always smell yourself.

Iceberg Twice Homme
I find this scent to be very oriental in a very spicy yet contradicting fresh way.

It very much plays on the same theme of Opium for men and Joop Homme of fresh contrast with spicy oriental.

While Opium will settle down of a woody vanilla scent Twice will continue to give off spicy tobacco notes to the point of being a little shrill.

It is a powerful long lasting scent and sillage is no problem with it - I would not recommend this for the office or hot humid climates either.

You will either like it or hate it - I feel it is Iceberg's Italian version of the German Joop Homme.

I do have give it a thumbs up for being such a powerful scent being lauched in the mid 90's marine light scents era.

Somewhere between Issey Miyake L'eau D'Issey and Cerruti 1881. Has nice uplifting vibes as well as a bit dated vibe.

Citrus freshness, green notes, floral elements, and a bit of woodiness. Nice and uncomplicated, even if it doesn't linger much.

A solid men's fragrance in 90s style. Citrusy opening, then a mix of herbal and floral notes, woody earthy base.

I don't understand the bad review. This is a relatively modern (men's) Chypre that's very well made. It's floral, powdery, and sweet.

Still outrageously affordable - always works with a more complex freshness than some arrogant citrus counterparts at double the price.

The bottle almost suggests a citrus scent, but thanks to Yuzu, it leans towards fruity-minty with a later twist into powdery.

Yuzu-fruity, bright green-spicy heart, lightly woody and musky base. Yes, tonka bean. A relaxed preview of current °°°
