Wow! Just wow!
One of the strongest surprise I ever had! I bought it from DM in Bulgaria (in vacation), because I didn't find it in my country. It's so strong, intensive and beautiful smelling! It's also cheap, making it to enter in my "best buy" list. It smells like Mugler's A-Men, but sincerelly I prefer Selection... its dry down it's much better.

Terre D'Hermes with rose
This is rose + spices.
I was finally able to find what the spice part smells like - Tierre D'Hermes. I was equally conflicted by smelling both because this combination is not easy to understand for me. But the rose note is quite enjoyable.
Otherwise, very good quality for the cheap price tag.
I am done with the review, but I need to write 300 characters why oh why

"However... the Sphinx spoke....
"sweetness lies in the middle and the spice on the right and left..."
Oh wow, loved the scent! And the fragrance continues... after it started off pleasantly bitter-citrusy and has pulled along a whole array of spicy delights. And it continues on, deep into the floral heart. And probably even beyond that.
Deep dark red roses and light green-floral-finely sweet-powdery jasmine form the perfect "intermediate layer," like the Patti in a good hamburger. With the "fresh vegetables" on top and a bitter-spicy sauce underneath.
This is very "tasty" here, represented by woods, vetiver, and a bit of patchouli. While a hint of vanilla wafts in the background.
And still clearly the spices in lively transition with the floral center. Hard to believe that this is a very affordable "bargain" that could easily be placed in a costly niche due to its long-lasting and high-quality scent. "The earthy slips into the spicy, while rose and jasmine bushes grow among lush green grasses!"
Not easy to grasp, at least not after the first two tests. There seems to be much to explore in the deeper depths. While something wants to emerge... like lurking lava inside a rather "gentle" volcano like Etna or Stromboli....

The Son of La Nuit and Dior Homme Intense
The perfume I'm writing about here was a blind buy.... And what a buy it was!
The brand Jacques Battini was completely unknown to me. But also interesting. I ultimately decided on the "Selection."
The fragrance pyramid read well. At first glance, I thought of La Nuit. And that thought was at least partially fulfilled.
The opening is very nutty and sweet in a pleasant, soft way..... Similar to La Nuit. But also a bit like Dior Homme Intense.
The Battini is positioned right in between. Definitely a standalone perfume.
In the drydown, it becomes woodier and the vanilla really comes to the forefront. And the rose, in my opinion, doesn't come across as very prominent..... Which doesn't really bother me personally.
I'm not a big fan of rose perfumes anyway.

In any case, the Selection scent from Battini is a very elegant autumn fragrance and perfect for dates or when sitting in a bar.
The longevity and sillage are quite good.
I sprayed a few spritzes on a fresh T-shirt and then just left it there...... After almost 3 days, it was still pleasantly noticeable. The sillage is great..... A good 2 to 3 meters.

The bottle is relatively simple in dark, slightly translucent brown. According to the Battini website, a Swarovski crystal is embedded on the front. It looks stylish....!
The cap is even made of real wood... even if it is just plywood. But it doesn't feel cheap at all. Quite the opposite, it feels quite valuable.

Here on parfumo, it is compared to A*Men. Unfortunately, I don't know that one. For me, the Battini smells like a cross between La Nuit and DHI.

The scent is definitely worth it 100 percent!!!
This won't be my last bottle....

Edit..... By the way, the scent is a perfume concentration. It says so on the button at the bottom of the bottle. It is neither an EdP nor an EdT.

Blindbuy
I am new to the perfume community and have so far tried several mainstream perfumes: Dior Sauvage, Most Wanted by Night, Club de Nuit, Zadig Voltaire This Is Him, Spicebomb, Prada L'Homme.
So, well-smelling uncomplicated scents without any rough edges.

Now I bought Selection blind due to the price and the fragrance pyramid.

A woody, spicy scent with a bit of sweetness. Unfortunately, I can't always detect individual notes.

But enough explanation, let's talk about the scent. It starts off a bit sweet. Here, I find the scent briefly feminine. Then it smells a bit medicinal to me, perhaps because of the cardamom? Later, something green comes in, and you can detect a bit of rose on a foundation of wood.

The green note bothers me a bit. Maybe it's something that clashes with the light sweetness, which I find unharmonious.

For me, this scent is not an easy fragrance that you can just wear casually.
It is definitely high-quality and does not smell synthetic at all.
But perhaps it is the vetiver note paired with the spices and the light sweetness that makes it almost unbearable for me.

I will continue to test it; maybe I will grow to like the scent.

I hope I had a somewhat readable review debut.

Edit: Now I know what bothers me; it is the rose that is present the whole time and remains until the end in the drydown.

When sprayed, it's a bit reserved - spicy woody, but quickly develops into a wood-sillage "monster." Really only for guys.

Great! Rose-spice-earth powder on a woody-grassy base. With a resinous-balsamic heart, beneath which a gentle volcano simmers. ETNA

Similar to the old Dior Homme Intense, just less sweet. Lipstick note and the woods come through clearly. Overall, smooth and rounded.

Can confirm a certain closeness to DHI and A*Men. However, it's greener, woodier, and mossier. Also reminds me of Encre Noir. Not YSL.

A unique barbershop scent with power. If anything, it leans towards "La Nuit de L'Homme (Eau de Toilette) | Yves Saint Laurent."

Reminds me a bit of the 80s, but with a bit less power.

It really has something of Dior Homme Intense in the drydown - but in a more masculine way.

A distant relative of DHI. If you like these lipstick vibes, you’re in the right place. Never smelled anything like this before. TOP P/L!

somewhere between A*Men (specifically Cuba Prestige), Yves Rocher - Cuir Vetiver, and Egoïste. Complex with surprises, vanilla definitely sets the mood.
