Difficult Start - Long Beautiful Middle - Enchanting Aftermath
I got to know it around Christmas 2017. The Britannia Club. Quite by chance. The usually messy and chaotic men's fragrance shelf at DM suddenly had a nicely crafted little wooden shelf with three men's fragrances: "Highlands," "Soho Lounge," and of course "Britannia Club." By Jean & Len. I had never seen either the manufacturer or the fragrances anywhere before. Since then, I have been carrying the small bottle of Britannia Club quite often with me. Initially, this was partly due to the robustness and easy portability of the little bottle. The cap fits nicely and doesn’t get lost in my briefcase. That’s how I came to love it. The scent has a clear three-part structure. At first, a bouquet - too citrusy, too many small nuances that rather exclude each other - not so great at all. I would say - you have to get through that to discover the Britannia Club at all. After 30 minutes, that’s over. And now comes the long main phase. Clearly recognizable bergamot, pepper, something resinous. And already the incense, still overshadowed by the other nuances but perceptible. Wonderful for me. And long-lasting. I enjoy smelling it on myself and notice how those around me sniff. It lasts like this for 7, 8, 9 hours, fades away but remains clearly recognizable. After a long workday, you still know what you applied in the morning. The third phase begins when "going to bed" and unfolds all its power again during the morning shower. Now there is almost only myrrh left - a bit of pepper - gently and heavily creeping up the nose and always triggering beautiful memories. Church, old, venerable - sunbeams in dusty clerical air, remnants of incense still rising from the pews and altars. Peace. And because of this wonderful morning "nose seduction," the subsequent reach for the surprisingly economical 50 ml bottle is quite obvious. And the cycle begins anew. But beware - last week I learned that the Jean & Len fragrances are being removed from DM stores. So anyone who still wants to try should be quick. I have set aside a small supply of this beloved friend.

I’m amazed, great scent
I stumbled upon it by chance at DM, tried it, wore it for an afternoon. Very good reactions, it really appealed to me due to its slight
similarity to Armani Aqua di Gio Profumo.
Top notes: Grapefruit, Bergamot, Pepper
Heart notes: Aquatic notes, Green spicy notes
Base notes: Woods, Frankincense

All in all, a good tip for anyone who doesn’t want to spend much on a summer scent but still wants to smell good and elegant.

"Spicy notes" in the given fragrance notes-details describe the scent quite well: it is a spicy-meaningless something.

Representing all Jean & Len Alchimiste men's fragrances: all the same sweet sludge in a new outfit. Quite cheeky, really.

Smells like the dough of a spicy almond cake, including butter, sugar, eggs, and rum aroma. I like it quite a bit, but it would be too heavy for me.

Citrusy start that becomes spicier over time. A rather weak scent. You can easily switch perfumes 3 times a day.

Sweet-powdery scent with a subtle leather note that becomes more prominent from the heart note. Not bad, but I can think of better ones.

The grapefruit seems British rainy (watery). It’s more like berry juice drinks. Later on, wood and incense. Still okay.
