Best Linden fragrance
This fragrance is highly underrated and stands apart from other Kerosene DNA scents. It opens with a clean, subtly soapy note that’s fresh and comforting. Then comes a beautiful Linden with a touch of citrus—crisp, natural, and never overly sweet—instantly evoking the Linden tree from my childhood home on cool summer nights. Linden is notoriously difficult to extract; it takes a huge number of flowers to capture its delicate aroma, which makes this note even more remarkable. If you’re not a fan of white or yellow florals, this one might not be for you.

Almost-summer mood
I must admit I was sceptic about this fragrance: gentle relaxing fragrance by Kerosene? Impossible! And yet- what a surprise: sourish lime and overwhelming linden for „meet&greet” gave me a splash of energy. A few seconds later sour note started its transition into dryish and matured sweetness. And then- a blast of linden blossom scent! I just love this moment of how the fragrance performa with my senses, I could stay there for hours, like under-the-linden-tree afternoon, in the countryside.
Well, everything comes to the end- in this case linden light sweetness becomes dry again and mixes with jasmin, neroli, dry grass.
I could stay for the whole weekend under this tree, in this beautiful place in my dreams ️

There aren't many fragrances that I wear that receive comments from the people around me. I try out many scents in the office. And so, the people who first get hit by the fragrance wave are usually my colleagues. They know about my little passion and are used to it by now, so they aren't easily impressed. Occasionally, someone shows a bit of interest. I take advantage of that to perhaps share samples and my passion with others. Today, I tried "Pretty Machine" by Kerosene. I sprayed about one and a half sprays on the backs of my hands. I often use my hands as a testing ground. Since I work a lot on the computer, my hands are flying around on the keyboard, creating a proximity to my nose. That's intentional. I get more of the scent. It's nice when it's something new and good. And the clothes remain untouched. So today, "Pretty Machine." Usual procedure. First impression: the Kerosene DNA is somehow noticeable. Yes, I immediately think a bit of gasoline. I find that quite cool. So I already liked the start.
Then a colleague came into my office. First sentence: "You often have great perfumes. But this one is not it."
Hey, I actually think it's quite good, even the floral aspect. What's your problem? Of course, I asked nicely: What bothers you? Response: "It smells like soap, it reminds me of old soap. Sorry, I don't want to smell that!" Face slightly contorted in disgust. I think that's great. Who honestly tells you their opinion when it comes to smell: You stink. That deserves recognition. So: hands washed. Thoroughly. With peach soap. For ten minutes, that was not a good idea at all. "Pretty Machine" remained detectable plus peach soap. Yuck. I didn't like that either. As I said, ten minutes, then the peach soap faded away. What was left? "Pretty Machine"!
I actually think that's super cool, a scent that can hold up, that lasts. Here it is. And I like it too. Without a fragrance pyramid, I initially guessed more towards lily of the valley or jasmine or something similar (please don't laugh). But then it quickly became clear: linden blossoms galore. Very natural. With this scent, I don't perceive a strong progression. That might also be due to washing my hands. The linden blossoms are there quickly and remain dominant the whole time, even after hours. The linden blossoms don't smell like a can full of dried linden blossoms from the health food store, but like the scent that wafts around linden trees in bloom. And then there's also a little splash of lemon to achieve the perfect combination: wonderful.
So: linden blossom galore, clear, dominant. Beautiful composition with little fuss. Good longevity, even over hours, and an appealing sillage. For linden blossom fans, this is definitely a must-try! Since it's a Kerosene scent, you also don't have to fear any sickly sweetness.
But please dose carefully. The scent can pack a punch!

Opens with gorgeous lime and linden, transitions to an almost grassy neroli and settles into one of the most tenacious citrus floral musks

An airy white floral—not sweet but somehow delectable. If it's a machine, it's all cool metal, without any plush rubbery warmth.

Floral between green elements and citrus freshness. Well done, quite feminine. Occasionally slightly watery, almost cucumber-scented.

Evil linden blossom magic that intoxicates you with fumes from Hades, then becomes very sweet yet still fascinates. Enchanting ether clouds.

The linden tree of evil! My dear goodness, it's like anesthesia. If you don't like linden, stay away!

Life cycle of a linden blossom. First fresh, then honey-sweet, leading to a rotting end. And also suitable for allergy sufferers. Great.

The (loud) linden blossom is very well complemented by jasmine & neroli here, yet it still packs a punch. It could also narcotize others!

The machine here is the linden blossom in overdose, gently intoxicating and sweetly lulling you to sleep. The scent leaves a delirium.
