Love at First Spray
I am physically unable to be normal about this scent. It is everything I want in a gourmand: it's sweet but not too sweet, warm and spicy, and a little smoky. The cardamom adds a really stunning nuanced spice to the burnt caramel: sweet, aromatic, floral, peppery. Either the sugar note was intended to feel like a powdered/confectioner's sugar or the combination of the sugar and cardamom notes on my skin are making it smell like that, which gives Sweetly Known a little facet of "powdered donut" that I was not expecting, but I'm definitely not mad at it. It is also strong and sticks around; 2-4 sprays on my wrist last about 8+hours, and it will stay on your clothes for a few days as well. I am so glad I tried this, because it's quickly becoming an all-time favorite.

A canelé in fragrance form
I am swooning after sampling Sweetly Known from Kerosene. I’m neither a fan of sweet treats or sweet fragrances, but as it happens my current favorite sweet stink is also from the creators at Kerosene, and it’s a coconutty-pina colada- Biscoff masterpiece called Unknown Pleasures. So I’m not surprised that I like this one, too. They seem to be able to handle sweetness with nuance and complexity and make it interesting, rather than cloying or childish. Sweetly Known incorporates notes of Cardamom, Cocoa, and other confectionery notes alongside musk and it smells like a miniature bundt-shaped small French pastry flavored with rum and vanilla, offering a softly milky, tender custardy center and a dark, crackling caramelized crust. There’s also a smoky, dusty note that makes it feel like you’re burning the incense or smudge stick version of this dessert and elevates what might be a sugary experience to something absolutely sublime.

Thee cardamom scent
A sweet, caramelly and a little boozy fragrance from the get go. Sweetly Known is verging on gourmand ATM, but it isn't overpowering or cloying, to my surprise looking at the notes. It is somehow light.
After dry down, however, cardamom is revealed and it is gorgeous in composition with the rest of the notes! Sweetly Known has arrived at gourmand.
The scent reminds me a bit of Cardamom Coffee by Lush, but it is less pungent and actually wearable.

That is on paper, I'm sure that as soon as I spray myself, we'll have another story.

As expected, the fragrance is amped up on skin. I get more booziness and the cardamom is in for the ride from the start! Sweetly Known, though very different, is a lighter version of Follow by Kerosene, in my opinion. It doesn't have a coffee note per se, but the cardamom and slight note of burnt match remind me so much of Follow. I found Follow absolutely mouthwatering, but not that wearable, whereas Sweetly Known is perfect for Autumn and Winter as a signature scent.
I could smell it for 6+ hours and the experience was so pleasant.
I kept sniffing, and back home after a long day at work, my boyfriend asked "you own that, right?". Answer is, unfortunately not, but his reaction to that was "you will. It is delicious!".

Sweetly Known is what I wish I had, I absolutely adore my Unknown Pleasures, but it is an absolute BEAST that wears me, not me it, whereas Sweetly Known makes me feel so confident and sexy that I just need this in my collection!

Gourment paradise
If you love carmel in a slightly dry form, this fragrance is for you. I have a feeling that recently it has been reformulated and reminds for a while or two Followed (lovage-like note), however it still makes me happy, especially during the day, when I need energy. I like this combination of burnt sugar and cocoa, and also that each listed note really appears on your wrist. Such a sweet story, perfect around Xmas time.

Too burnt to eat, too strong to spray
I think I could adore this scent if it wasn't so burnt - so completely destroyed by being forgotten on the stove, a painful mistake that ruins your baking session.

I'm a fan of the cardamom and of all the spice but it just unfortunately smells like burnt. And I'm kind of fascinated by the idea maybe just about a quarter of people perceive it as burnt... What is that all about? Or do others perceive it as burnt but have a more positive association with the concept (haven't burnt caramel as often)??

It's also an extremelyyyy long-lasting scent. The test strip I had lying on my desk kept me wondering what was burning in the distance for over 3 days. Crazy!

Burnt caramel, you say? More like charred caramel, scorched, turned to charcoal. The only somewhat pleasant thing is the cardamom.

The best perfume of all time. The aroma of a candy shop in a Christmas market during your childhood, a burning memory.

Opens with a strong salted caramel scent which dries down to a burnt, sticky sugar. After a few hours the cardamom starts to break through.

I want to love this because of the cardamom but the caramel is much much too burnt for me! It smells like something went horribly wrong.

A not-to sweet gourmand. Brownie batter, fragrant chai, and the burned part of the crème brûlée, all at once. Intense. Good value. Nuanced. 10/10
