A Pleasant Orange Scent
Kerosene SANTALUM SLIVERS caught me off guard since I was naturally expecting a sort of sandalwood soli-note. Instead, to my nose, this is an orange perfume. A smooth, slightly sweet, not too acidic orange scent. The wood is there in the background, but the orange really dominates.

I see that a number of other citrus notes--bergamot, grapefruit, and lime--are listed in the hierarchy of this perfume, but the orange is truly salient. I might add that the color of the juice is quite close to that of orange oil.

SANTALUM SLIVERS lies about half-way between something like Bond no 9 LITTLE ITALY, which is much more bright and shiny and juicy and vivid, and Hermès EAU DES MERVEILLES, which is quite a bit more complex and sparkly and woody. This creation smells good, but the longevity is not so good, and given the competition in the orange category, I won't be pursuing this it further.

I did enjoy the two wears!

breath of lime
originally got this sample because someone had written that this has a very pure and clear sandalwood, and I wanted to smell a good example of sandalwood.

it is Citrusy yes, but I also thought I smelled white floral honey, but those are not listed in the description so now I am not so confident in what I smelled. besides the citrus which is already listed, I though I smelled specifically lime, which also is not listed in the notes. mysterious!

Pure, beautiful citrus
With the tiniest amount of fragrance left in my sample, I won't be reviewing this one on paper, which I recently have been loving doing again, but alas, I won't waste any of my precious Kerosene.

Santalum Slivers, at the opening, is a juicy and ripe lime; tart and mouth watering, but the fragrance soon becomes a little greener.

Few houses make citrus fragrances like John Pegg. The lime in Santalum Slivers is just too realistic, it's beautiful!

I just decanted Remarkable People by Etat Libre d' Orange and have that lingering in my memory, both fragrances are fresh and aromatic, but RP becomes a little like teenage cologne and is somewhat sweeter, whereas Santalum Slivers remains a citrus bomb with aromatic notes from vetiver and a slight note of hay.

Even though the citruses stated are lemon, grapefruit, orange and bergamot, I smell lime. I could be persuaded to say bergamot, but the other citruses have far too much sweetness in them than is in Santalum Slivers.

Though I like my citruses with a hint of sweetness, I have to say that Santalum Slivers is thee citrus fragrance out there. It is realistic, to the tee. This fragrance, along with Falling Into the Sea, are the creme de la creme of citrus perfumery.
As far as I have tried. Hands down, I bow in awe.
If you like your citruses with a sprinkle of sweetness, than go for Falling Into the Sea. If you like equally as sweet as tart, go for Davana & Vanille Bourbon from 100Bon. If you like your citruses with five cubes of sugar, than Unknown Pleasures is the right fragrance for you.
However, if you are searching for a well-performing, realistic, juicy and impressing true citrus, Santalum Slivers is you candidate.

Gentle
Fresh and wearable, clean wood and citrus, but with a compositional complexity that makes it the most Comme des Garçons-like fragrance from Kerosene. This is a type of clean woodsy and citrus fragrance that many houses have released but in my view Kerosene has made the best version here because it smells as if it's composed of naturally occurring real things, not the usual fragrance chemicals or department store cologne notes. If Kerosene were to make a body and skincare line, I would want it to be this scent.

Citrus fresh town
I finally got a bottle of this! The opening is a super citrus blast orange then turns into grapefruit. Really every part of the orange you can smell. The juice the rind pith all of it. I really dig it. I can clearly smell the cucumber in here and it gives it a fresh kinda aquatic quality. I can def smell the hay accord it’s more of a herbal green note imo. Dries down to a bit of sandalwood too. Just overall fresh clean and something different than most of the freshies I’ve encountered. My wife absolutely loves it. She smelled it on me and I could see her eyes light up. Definitely gonna be a spring / summer banger for me! Happy I got this definitely something ultra different but yet super fresh clean and delicious all in one. This and pacific chill are gonna be my new warm weather rotation.

Bright, zesty and bitter citrus with a hint of rose. Extremely fresh and clean. Smells like freshly squeezing lemonade in the summer.

Piercing bitter citrus opening supported by a milky sandalwood. After the citrus, the cucumber, hay, and rose notes become the focus.

Aquatic freshness like Kerosene that's irresistible. Like a refreshing cocktail by the sparkling sea. Wood floats in the ocean. Beautiful.

Citrusy scent with slight green nuances.
I don't think this is Kerosene's strength.
Let me smell again briefly.
Oops, where did it go?
