Enamored
Oh my. I wasn't expecting to love this as much as I do. The first burst on my skin is nostalgic sunscreen. Then, the flowers develop: the greenness, the zestiness, the pungentness. It's like leaning in to smell a flower that was wafting ethereally through the night air, but the spiciness up close overpowers the wafts you smelled before. You want to get closer, but you can't, so instead, you continue strolling and inhaling deeply without leaning in too close. This is photorealistic flowers, with all the nostalgia of going to the pool as a kiddo getting slathered in sunscreen and smelling all the mothers around doused in Clinique Happy. I want a full bottle!! My favorite orange blossom fragrance...

Realistic Floral
Though I used to, I generally don't enjoy or gravitate toward floral fragrances anymore. For that reason, I was not excited to find this sample included with a recent fragrance purchase. Imagine my surprise to open it up, take a whiff, and be pleasantly surprised. Of all the florals, Jasmin is my favorite, and this is heavy on the Jasmin and orange blossom, light on the rose (which may be my least favorite floral). This actually reminds exactly of how a hyacinth flower smells. On my skin, it doesn't seem "dirty" at all. Very fresh, spring-y, realistic floral that is surprisingly delightful.

Well described by name
Lovely perfume very Well describes by name... This is a dirty flower! Orange blossom and Jasmine, which are a bit dirty un themselves, mixed with some powdery rose. The pepper gives a dirty and spicy vibe which is inceased with pepper. Then the musk finish with a subtle animalic feeling which increases the longevity of the perfume
Well blended perfume suitable for daytime during the colder seasons and for night time with Warner weather. Unisex but very flowery so, guys, try before buying. Not a subtle or delicate perfume. Great performance.

Don't hold back, go all out!

If you're going to do it, then do it right! And with something quite intense that noticeably breaks through your nasal walls. You tremble like crazy. Yes, this devilish stuff swirls around as if it has rabies.

The dirty flower factory of Kerosene has a lot up its sleeve. Heavy and shrill, it wraps itself around your shoulders. It presses down hard, stamping you into the damp, dirty ground. The humidity sinks deep. You can really feel the pressure in your bones. The pain runs deep. It pulls and tears from all sides. Fog wraps around your head, letting no ray of sunshine through. Everything is covered in black clouds. Numbness. Silence. There’s not much more.

But then slowly, many black drops fall from the sky. Rain mixed with gasoline. Gasoline mixed with the smell of decay. On top of that, a shrill flower party is being dragged around wildly.

Stop. Close your eyes to get through this stench. Maybe it will get better! The nose somehow wants to escape this carnage, somehow get out of this cruelty - but the head is still very much involved. It wants to give the scent another chance after the nasty blow.

It also takes on animalistic traits. It settles quite firmly in the damp ground. Insects crawling over your feet cause a shiver that runs down your back. And then again this smell of decay and these cruel flowers that are half wilted.

But once you've endured all this, it appears calmer, more distant. Finally gives me air to breathe. It becomes slightly peppery in the background - the musk becomes purer, more bearable. It’s no longer so animalistic and it doesn’t feel so "human" either. Yet it remains sharp - it hisses around, then bitterly underlaid with orange blossoms and wilted rose. Over time, it becomes more bearable, somehow even more pleasant. The humid, damp feeling has disappeared, and it allows a bit of sunshine too. It definitely belongs to the "swarmers." A challenging scent, for sure! But that’s what you expect from Kerosene.

Just like with Yatagan, I have trouble finding an occasion for it. The beginning especially puts me off, and I can't really get a foothold. Somehow it attracts me, but then pulls me away again. Especially when I think of the blow that left a nasty bump.

The longevity and sillage are robust and cling quite firmly to the skin. The bottle suggests something dark, but I find it quite chic. All in all, quite solid - with a lot of mental imagery. Dislike plays a big role, just like attraction towards the end. A rollercoaster of emotions, indeed!

Dark, feminine floral bouquet with green undertones; rose and lightly indolic jasmine in the forefront, fortified by peppery sandalwood.
