I believe...
...yes, I believe, or rather believed I was dreaming when I applied Musc de Java to my wrist.
My first school in the Czech Republic was right in our village of Vysoká Pec (in German "Hohenofen"). It was a villa that once probably belonged to a wealthy person and was community property during my childhood. Our elementary school was housed there - grades 1 to 4. The villa stood on a hill above the village, and a narrow, unpaved road led down from it. However, you could also take a path down the side of the villa, right through green meadows. I usually took this path because I loved that landscape so much.
In spring, I always observed how the meadows became greener and greener, the flowers began to bloom, bees and many different butterflies fluttered around, and then the meadows were mowed, leaving the grass and flowers to dry for a while before being collected in their dry state. All around were the blooming trees and the scent of the tree blossoms mixing with the smell of hay. This scent, a bit green, a bit floral, a bit sweet, a bit earthy - how I miss that fragrance...
Musc de Java has brought that scent back to me, and I feel like I'm back on my freshly mowed meadow, the sun warming my face, bees buzzing, birds chirping, and a little further away, the stream is babbling. Yes, I believe I am dreaming, I have a lump in my throat, and I am writing my comment.
Musc de Java smells wonderfully of hay with linden blossoms - even though according to the pyramid, there are none in it. Immediately after application, this scent develops and does not change on my skin anymore.
The projection is subtle but noticeable, and the longevity is surprisingly good.
It is truly amazing how strongly scents can affect us and what memories can sometimes be evoked just by a fragrance.
Thank you so much, dear Michelangela, for this beautiful dream, which is actually a memory.
