Cardamom spicy-earthy based perfume.
First things first, I see here to the right, "similar perfumes: Dior Homme". That statement I would say is very un-true. Everyone says these days that everything smells like Dior Homme, and this is definitely not the case. This is a Cardamon based perfume. The Cardamon note is absolutely dominant all the way till the drydown and it gives a very spicy vibe.

Second, if this would have any similarities to other perfume line would be Hermès. It's somehow in the line of eau de merveilles, terre d'hermes, etc...

Third, it is absolutely delicious, addictive, clean, expensive, and easy to wear. To me, the best designers fragrance relase in 2016, together with BOY Chanel. Give it a try! Impressive work!

A cozy fur blanket
Initial explosion of bitter citrus and slightly smoky cardamom (and what felt like a hint of cumin?) dissipated from my body in under ~20 minutes. A cozy, warm and well rounded composition of sandalwood, sweet cedar and several other notes I haven't heard before waited underneath.

I spent the first ~3 hours in a gentle powdery cloud. I was worried it would give me a headache, but the woody sweetness was mellow and subdued, so I never felt unwell (unless you count "lazy" and "sleepy" as an affliction). Once I got out of the woods, a field of violets softly swaying on the wind awaited me. I have confirmed with my partner that somewhere at this point it stopped projecting and settled close to my skin. In another ~2 hours the violets also faded away and left just the soft fluffy base (which took another ~3 hours to dry out). It made me feel so safe and warm I just wanted to lay in bed the whole day instead of doing any work, lol.

This should be great for a lazy weekend during colder parts of the year, as it envelops the wearer like a soft fur blanket; but when I want to take it out in warm weather I spray it on my clothes instead — they can't bring out the warmth underneath, but trap the upper notes pretty well, so I end up smelling like an adorable fresh cardamom pastry ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و

LOEWE 001 MAN
Loewe 001 Man is a more interesting perfume than it may seem at first, multifaceted in its combination of what has dominated the commercial and niche perfumery. At first I had the impression that its dynamics would revolve around exotic woods, amber and with an aromatic bitter absinthe, something that briefly reminded me of Amouage Memoir Man. However, this is just one facet of 001 Man, which balances between citrus and clean touches, a note of earthy and slightly powdery iris (which some relate to Dior Homme), a dry woody scent of sandalwood and creamy vanilla and musk tones at the base. It is a complex perfume, one that deceives with a false sense of delicacy in an aroma that lasts nicely on the skin. It has notes sufficiently unisex to be shared, fitting with what the proposal says.

When you put it on your clothes, it smells like fried chicken.
At first, it's cardamom. It's like ginger. It starts with a food scent. After a while, it becomes a bit vanillic. I think it's violet. It reminded me a bit of Flower by Kenzo.
It's like a mild spicy woody scent. I'm glad there's no lavender in this.
If this note didn't have ambrette and violet, it would be a pretty typical men's fragrance. I have ambrette seed essential oil, and this sweet vegetable musk and violet fill in the gaps of the masculine spicy woody "thorns" and make it mellow. And the only thing that has a clear cardamom effect is that it smells like spicy fried chicken, and it has a "food" feel. (But it's by no means gourmand)

I've tried this a total of five times. That's because I've tried almost all of Givenchy's Gentleman series (both the derived flankers and the original), but I was completely disappointed. I just barely liked the original last note. Yes, designer fragrance notes. This has about half the designer fragrance notes. Someone wrote in a review that it's somewhere between niche and designer. If I had improved Loewe for me, I probably would have lost fans, so this is probably the right choice, but reading the reviews, I feel that Loewe tends to have stronger top notes overall. I also agree with the opinion that the musk is strong. I saw an opinion that the drydown is similar to Rochas Man, which I don't like, but because the cosmetic notes are toned down, I found it much easier to wear than Rochas Man.
However, I preferred to put it on my clothes rather than on my skin. I think it's too loud when I put it on my skin. To reduce the volume, it's better to put it on your clothes rather than on your skin.

As an aside, I put this on the front of my clothes and ate a hamburger (chili sauce fried chicken), which I rarely eat, but it didn't interfere with my meal. I guess that in Europe and America(And countries that love spices on a daily basis... in Asia? Maybe all countries other than Japan?), people probably eat these spices on a daily basis, so the spicy scent doesn't bother them. I guess the scent of spices stands out when it comes to Japanese food.

I think it's a casual fragrance for people who feel the somewhat "formal" feel of Givenchy and Dior fragrances is too much. As the bottle says, it's colorless and transparent, and not a very flashy scent. (Except for cardamom) Recommended for cardamom fans. I think I'll use up the sample.

The Thing with Wine and Hoses ...
To get straight to the point: Loewe 001 Man is not a bad perfume. It is velvety, cozy, and warms like mulled wine in the late hours. It fits perfectly into the cold season. The fact that there is apparently no iris in it is surprising. Because: The scent is indeed powdery and a bit "papery," but this aspect is not as prominent as in other representatives of this fragrance direction. It starts off with a salted cardamom sweetness that is quite pronounced.

L001M seems, at first glance, to want to take new paths, but at the end of the day, it only treads well-worn trails: Dior Homme (with its variants, although the EdT is probably the most suitable for comparison), Carthusia 1681 (Paper), or - to mention a newer representative - L'Homme by Prada (with a subtle freshness kick, but otherwise conventional) are glaring references. In any case, L001M is not thematically new. No contrast, no twist. This is almost a bit surprising: Sure, Loewe is not an experimental hidden gem, but they have released an extremely noteworthy incense variant with the blue 7 Loewe: Modern, slim, wiry, a bit overly apple-like and completely unassuming in any sacred proximity. And otherwise, the fragrances from this label, which seems to navigate the no man's land between "niche" and mainstream, are worth a test. Compared to 7 Loewe, Loewe 001 Man at best comes off like the nice son-in-law from next door ...

The idea that a woody drift is to be initiated with cedar and cypress as well as sandalwood can hardly be taken seriously. L001M clearly remains in its slightly boring and somewhat sedating sweetness, especially at the beginning. Fortunately, this sweetness does not become too sticky as the scent develops, and the merely hinted woodiness is not scratchy (like in Bleu de Chanel, for example) - this makes L001M wearable and pleasing. The base of the fragrance reads complicated and suggests a touch of uncleanliness. Whether this is a self-fulfilling prophecy remains open ... The formal quality of L001M is impeccable. Projection and longevity do their solid job like the old diesel engine in U96. The bottle is very attractive and appears classically elegant. Conclusion: L001M is indeed a new wine, but in old hoses. It’s something you can drink once in a while.

Deliciously spiced scent with a beautiful progression from warm-spicy to woody to cozy. With scents like this, you look forward to autumn.

Why should men smell like animalistic cardamom sweat? First, they take a shower and then spray themselves to smell sweaty?

Citrusy cardamom at first, then increasingly woody-spicy and leathery with a creamy powder note. Much nicer than the women's fragrance, I like it.

Reminds me a lot of Greene Street/Etro .. but it's missing the cardamom found in L001M. Great scents .. both!
