Lovely incense - also for summer...

7 Natural is a great smooth citrus which is also slightly ozonic/aquatic.
At first it seems like a straight up summer scent, but it actually goes well for most seasons, probably due to the incense and woody vetiver that shines through after the opening.

Excellent longevity and moderate projection - what's not to like?

Under- and Overstatement

Since I greatly appreciate the Loewe women's fragrances, I reached for Loewe 7 Natural as well.

My dear friend is a Loewe native, and what could be more fitting than to dedicate a fragrance of the same brand to him.

The addition of "natural" makes me think of a light, natural scent that would also suit my nature-loving Mani well.

But that is an understatement.
The pepper strikes harshly, completely overshadowing the yuzu.
Fortunately, neroli counters the pepper with some coolness - a tough battle in which the pepper prevails.
The incense gives the brash pepper a good smack, causing it to retreat to the corner, counting itself out.
The smoky cedar can now shine, with slightly sweet, grassy vetiver in tow.
I breathe a sigh of relief - but the sturdy pepper has regained its composure and rises again, albeit a bit battered, back into the ring.

A combative, dynamic scent - without being sporty.

This uncomfortable fragrance does not suit my balanced friend, who loves tranquility.
Much more fitting for fiery spirits with a contrarian streak.

The description on the cover "Human and Divine" is also contradictory, and the "Divine" part is quite exaggerated.

A controversial scent that I cannot warm up to, and one that I cannot imagine on my dear Mani.

After I recently tested the extraordinary 7 de Loewe, which was only comparable to Cacharel's Pour L'Homme, it was a perfect coincidence to receive a small sample of the "Natural" version from a nice Parfumo member. Finally, a different flanker name, no Light, Sport, or Intense. However, I can't fully believe the fairy tale of natural perfume. But that doesn't matter much, as there are hardly any purely natural perfumes these days. What’s important is the scent itself: and it is a fresher, more wearable version of the original.

Almost everything I wrote about the original applies here in a diluted form, just much brighter and with a fresher undertone. If the original was too heavy and different, this offers a softened variant. Still, there are huge parallels, and it can hardly disguise its father. For 7 Natural is also quite far from the mainstream track - through resinous, piercing incense and a pine tree feeling. Only here, it is diluted and made juicier with the trendy fruit yuzu, a bit of pepper, and orange. It is still above average in dryness, though. Definitely a scent for eccentrics and gentlemen who swim against the tide and are a bit different. This number 7 is just a bit more cultivated and less stubborn than its angular ancestor. And also a bit more boring.

Bottle: like the original, just lighter. Quite nice.
Sillage: lighter, brighter, softer than the original and now more variable.
Longevity: beautiful 7 hours show no summery light shortenings!

Still not a top scent, and for incense fans, it’s hardly worth mentioning if you know the original - but objectively speaking, it is the slightly better, prettier scent for me, without completely denying its angular, futuristic incense core!

The Natural Alternative

An interesting concept: "Loewe 7 Natural" contains exactly seven ingredients, of which six are of natural origin and only one synthetic (musk) had to be used. This aligns perfectly with my constant mantra that everything begins with the best possible components, ingredients, molecules; if you skimp here, you can orchestrate and combine as well as you like later on, "garbage in garbage out" applies nowhere as much as in the art of perfumery. So how does this Loewe product, which prominently features natural ingredients, perform?

While the opening with bitter orange and yuzu is still quite one-dimensional (I almost would have said "artificial"...), screaming very citrusy-bitter, bright yellow, and very sour so that everyone really understands "fresh!!!", this initial impact quickly fades and then becomes briefly really pleasantly bright citrusy and light, but still with substance and body. This impression is beautifully enhanced as soon as the pink pepper joins in combination with a resinous-green frankincense; interestingly, I perceive these two together almost as clove plus nutmeg, they have such a spicy-green character, but that is also quite spicy-pleasant. The cedar note early on leads into the transition to the base, which then rounds off warm with musk and vetiver and lasts quite a long time.

So does the "Natural" concept work? This has certainly not become a breathtakingly large, surprisingly impressive fragrance, but although it appears a bit watery or "diluted," this version shows itself to be, in my opinion, far better and vastly superior compared to the "normal" Loewe 7. The top note is much more natural, pleasant, and rounded after the initial attack, especially the heart note is significantly better, more harmonious, and "real." For a fresh, light, yet rounded summer fragrance with substance, "Loewe 7 Natural" is definitely a contender!
