My ermine made of green and smoke ️️️️
How chance sometimes plays out in life! I was actually looking for fragrances for my dear wife in a perfumery on Lanzarote - and was given good advice by a very friendly, competent young lady. But what on earth made her spray a fragrance on my arm without being asked that I immediately fell in love with? "Ahh, this is the one", I stammered - but she said: "no, this One is for You"! Not only did all the fragrances I had previously tested for my wife suddenly seem banal, even ridiculous: I had never smelled anything so good, dense and coherent in my life! Now, it has to be said that I am a friend of bitter perfumes, patchouli, vetiver, wood, pepper, that kind of thing! - i love Encre Noir, the old Givenchy Gentleman and the new Dior Homme Sport, not forgetting the now untraceable (unless grandpa has passed away and the grandchildren know the value of this drug on Ebay) Rochas Macassar... and now yesterday I found the souls of all these treasures united and preserved in this one fragrance: Esencia Elixir by Loewe.
Loewe is a noble, old company that always uses good ingredients - at least the vintage versions of their "pour homme" fragrance are brilliant! But this one, it's hard to find words! This is a powerful, yes, overpowering elixir, but it doesn't penetrate in any way or even stink (like another, the Elixir for Stinkers). It is simply sublime and full-bodied! It wears like an ermine of smoke and deep green! For me, it's an absolute EXIT perfume - I would never need anything else, because I can't imagine getting bored of wearing this fragrance and making other people happy with it. All the other fragrances are not bad, they can still serve as a change, like drinking corn and caraway during the week and then enjoying the 16-year-old fine single malt whisky on a high holiday.
So green, misty forests, fairy forests, mossy witches' grounds, November and June at the same time - norse, trolls and elves! Even the next day, after a long shower, you can still smell this fragrance on your skin and on your shirt - but without any intrusiveness, just as a trace of something higher, almost sacred.
I look forward to every day when I will walk with this scent and stride in splendor and glory in my ermine of rainforest smoke.
