Esencia Elixir Loewe 2023

I was expecting a richer take on the esencia edp, which is already great on its own and has very good performance (actually i don’t understand why an elixir needed?).

The first seconds are very similar, but after some minutes the smell turns into a very bad chemical and synthetic smell, a very very cheap scent that reminds of very low budget clothes shop.
It is also nausea inducing because of its density, it’s like a nauseating very low lever designer fragrance on stereoids.

And it’s more expensive than a lot of very high quality niche perfumes. It’s around 230€ for a 100ml bottle.

I wouldn’t wear this even if it was for free, it smells really really annoying, basic, cheap, disturbing, gives me headache.

It opened up pretty nicely on my skin. A woody comfy male fragrance. It was pretty delicious and I was enjoying myself for about 40 minutes.

Then my partner came home and wanted to try it as well. And on him? An immediate overload of something vaguely citrusy and super aggressive for no good reason. My partner loved it, I couldn't stand it. But it enveloped our whole apartment, so I didn't really have a choice in the matter. The initial explosion took more than 30 minutes to settle, and ~4 hours to become soft enough to smell pleasant to me. Once the it mellowed out on his skin, it actually became pretty cute, almost like a zesty panettone.

It pretty much disappeared from me by then, and whatever hints still remained would easily get choked out any time my partner walked past me. It also clung to his clothing and stayed strong there for more than ~9 hours. And on a clean sweater straight from the wash too... Ugh.

I was desperate to love it, but alas.

when i try this perfume i fell in love it smells like aventus but little be dark more strong it last all day with good sillage and projection it cost a little be expensive here in spain 160euros ,you can´t go wrong with this perfume for the price you can get the best version of aventus

Loewe Esencia Elixir ist ein intensives, warmes Parfum, das sofort auffällt. Schon beim ersten Sprühen spürt man die Tiefe – würzig, holzig, fast geheimnisvoll. Es riecht sehr maskulin, aber nicht aufdringlich. Ich finde, es passt besonders gut in die kühle Jahreszeit oder zum Abend. Die Haltbarkeit ist beeindruckend – ein Spritzer reicht für den ganzen Tag. Es entwickelt sich schön auf der Haut und wird mit der Zeit weicher. Für mich wirkt es edel und kraftvoll zugleich. Wer klassische, luxuriöse Düfte mag, sollte es probieren. Es ist nichts für jeden Tag, aber perfekt für besondere Anlässe. Insgesamt ein markanter Duft mit Charakter.

How chance plays in life sometimes!? In a perfumery in Lanzarote, I was actually looking for scents for my dear wife - and was well advised by a very friendly, knowledgeable young lady. But what on earth made her spray a scent on my arm without asking, which immediately captivated me completely? “Ahh, this is the one,” I stammered - but she said: “no, this One is for You”! Not only did all the scents I had previously tested for my wife suddenly seem banal, even downright ridiculous: I had never smelled something so good, dense, and harmonious in my life! Now, I must say, I am a fan of bold perfumes, patchouli, vetiver, wood, pepper, and so on! - I love Encre Noir, the old Givenchy Gentleman, and the new Dior Homme Sport, not to mention the now hard-to-find (unless grandpa has passed away and the grandchildren know the value of this drug on eBay) Rochas Macassar… and yesterday I found the souls of all these treasures united and preserved in this one scent: Esencia Elixir by Loewe.
Loewe is indeed an elegant, old company that always uses good ingredients - at least the vintage versions of their “pour homme” scent are also brilliant! But this one, it is hard to find words! This is a powerful, yes, overwhelmingly powerful elixir that, however, does not penetrate in any way or even (like another, the Elixir for stinkers) stink. Here, one simply finds the sublimity and the fullness! It wears like an ermine of smoke and deep green! For me, it is the absolute EXIT - perfume - one would actually never need anything else, because it seems unimaginable to me that it could ever become boring to perceive this scent on oneself and to bring joy to other people with it. All the other perfumes are not bad, they can still serve for variety, like drinking grain and caraway during the week, only to enjoy the 16-year-old noble single malt whisky on the high holiday.
Green then, foggy forests, fairy forests, mossy witch grounds, November and June at once - Norse, trolls, and elves! Even the next day, after a thorough shower, you smell this scent on your skin and on your shirt - but without any intrusiveness, just as the trace of something higher, yes almost sacred.
I look forward to every day that I will walk with this scent and stride in splendor and glory in my ermine of rainforest smoke.

PS Please forgive my childlike enthusiasm, I am actually a very sober person. But this here…
