From zesty citrus to cocktail sweetness
A summer freshie that gets better as it dries down. I find that interesting, because many perfumes in this category start out nice and dry down to a nondescript thin base, but here it's the other way round.
The opening is fruity, but in a kind of artificial way. Even though there are no citruses listed, I smell something like mandarin and grapefruit besides the tart passion fruit. And it smells like the whole citrus fruit with the zest and the piths, sweet and also a little bitter. It gives me poolside vibes, but comes across a tad harsh.
After a while the sweetness of cotton candy and vanilla changes the scent. It feels warmer, rounder and more natural after a couple of hours. Still very fruity and fresh, but more cocktail-like and very inviting. The subtle peony adds a nice touch of clean floralcy.
I tried the original Solo Ella EDP a few years ago, and from what I remember, I don't find them too similar. The EDP was more peachy and floral, not as zesty as the EDT.
I also tried really hard to detect the similarity to Baccarat Rouge 540 that some get from this, but I don't even smell the tiniest hint of it.
