Tropicana Lorenzo Villoresi 2013

In my opinion, too little is said about this wonderful tropical scent. This is not just a simple fruit bomb. This fragrance is so multilayered and multifaceted. First, you get a pleasant magnolia that, however, says goodbye after about five to ten minutes. Then comes the heart, which expresses the watermelon notes so beautifully without becoming synthetic. When worn in very cold temperatures, the passion fruit appears rather muted. However, when worn in hot temperatures, the passion fruit unfolds quite well. My favorite moment, however, develops when the white chocolate note gently takes the stage. Together, this fragrance is a very complex scent composition. I have had it for over a year and am so glad to have it in my collection. It lasts over 24 hours on my skin in both winter and summer.

At first, it smells like the tropical gummy bear mix of a very well-known candy manufacturer. I wonder if L. Villoresi knows those gummy bears and based his fragrance on them? Almost as a tribute to said gummy bear? But what came first? Hhmm....... That would be funny, but it seems rather unlikely. After about 10 minutes, I can also detect floral notes alongside the gummy bear notes; I can't pick out magnolia, but I can smell osmanthus. Up to this point, it smells quite intense with artificial, sweet aromas. I can imagine that one either loves this or finds it terrible. I myself am still undecided about how I feel about it, even though I have tested the fragrance for 2 days. The scent remains like this for quite a while, but gradually the fruity notes diminish a bit. After a good hour, the entire fragrance becomes weaker. Unfortunately, I can't smell all the lovely listed heart and base notes; for my nose, the scent remains as it was in the first 10 minutes, only that it gradually gets weaker. Very unfortunate. The fragrance pyramid promises so much wonderfulness, where are these marvelous scent notes? If I concentrate hard enough, I can eventually perceive a tiny hint of chocolate, and the whole thing takes on a slight soap vibe for me. And that's about it. Sad.

Do you remember Mamba candies?

This fragrance smells just like that. Like Mamba mango and orange, with a hint of Orbit gum.

There is almost no development, but it doesn’t need any.

I love it for its fruity simplicity, even though it does come off a little artificial and over-the-top. But that’s part of its charm.

The longevity is about 7 hours, and the sillage is strong until just before the end, almost overwhelming in the first 15 minutes.

If you like fruity, gum-like scents, you need this one; everyone else can safely ignore it and miss nothing.
