Where is my tea??
Black tea. You know I love black tea. Coming from Turkey, I generally love tea, just like the Russians and the British do. And I particularly like black tea (but only with sugar, not with milk, like some uncultured people drink it...).
Now I had three tea scents from Monotheme here with me (samples). First, I tried the White Tea, then the Green Tea. I saved the Black Tea for last because I was particularly curious about it and... well. I was disappointed. But only because the scent of the tea comes across so weakly here; the scent itself smells good.
But anyway, for me, this scent is not a real black tea scent...
The scent:
The scent starts off with clementine or orange, shortly after that the vanilla comes in, and somehow the scent smells like sweet pastry, almost like cookies.
That may smell delicious, and it does smell nice, but unfortunately, the tea is hardly noticeable or gets too much into the background, as the vanilla is very strong. In fact, the scent even smells ONLY of vanilla for a while.
Later, some musk comes in, but mainly tonka bean, which makes the scent even sweeter. With a slightly woody background, in the end, you have a soft, sweet scent that is very pleasant but is not a real black tea scent.
Longevity and sillage:
Sweet scents are known to last longer, and here it is no different. The scent lasts easily for at least eight hours, which is very good.
The sillage is quite good, as the scent radiates well due to the strong vanilla and will be noticeable to others. This level can be maintained for several hours. If sprayed generously, a scent cloud remains.
The bottle:
The bottle remains unchanged. We still have the cylindrical bottle without a label. The fragrance liquid has the color of brewed black tea (so reddish-brown, for all the uninformed...). The cap is cylindrical, milky, and has a vertically standing disc as a design element or something on the top. Everything is quite simple, but still okay.
So, I must say, as a tea scent, this fragrance is almost completely disappointing due to its weak tea scent.
But that's not too bad, as the scent at least comes across well as a winter fragrance on colder days and smells nice with its sweet and powdery notes. It even occasionally reminds me of all the snacks during the winter season. It may not stand out from other scents of this kind, but it smells just as good and is also quite affordable (if you can find it...).
Therefore, it can be best worn on cooler days, and it might even be suitable for going out, as the sillage is surprisingly strong.
You can check it out, but only if you don't expect a tea scent. Or you just imagine dipping cookies in tea, hmm… :)
Well,… damn… I still expected black tea. … I WANT TEA!!! Then I’ll just make it myself… I mean the tea, of course!!!
And then dip cookies in it! Although I have no cookies left… only chips… should I dip the chips in the tea? *gag*
