It doesn't always have to be black tea!
Yes, I keep raving about delicious and wonderfully fragrant tea scents, and what happens? I find myself in front of a fragrance with white tea, which I have never tried before. I think, just as I constantly expand my fragrance horizon, I should also try out many different types of tea. Especially when I see that this scent from Monotheme simply smells really good.
Of course, that's easy to say, but it's hard to implement when there's a cup or rather a glass of black tea right next to me just waiting to be drunk.
The scent:
The fragrance starts fresh and lightly floral with a nice tea scent, which must be the white tea. You can also already catch a hint of mate tea. In the background, there seem to be light, green notes, making the scent feel even fresher.
In the heart note, there is a very slight pepper note, which, in my opinion, slightly ruins the fresh feeling of the fragrance, as it comes across as uncomfortably sharp. Sweet lily of the valley notes accompany it.
Towards the end, you can still identify good tea notes; I think that instead of the namesake white tea, the mate is a bit stronger, but that’s okay, as this scent is also very nice and continues to be accompanied by sweet notes (musk and lily of the valley).
It's nice that the sweet notes become a bit more intense and thus soften the pepper quite a bit, making the scent not only better but also a little warmer.
The longevity and sillage:
The scent lasts only a few hours on me. After three to four hours, you can hardly smell anything anymore.
Unfortunately, I had the feeling that the scent would seem rather weak, and that’s exactly how it turned out. The fragrance will not project strongly; with a bit of luck, a few spritzes will be enough to be perceived at least for a short time up close.
The bottle:
The bottle is cylindrical and clear. The brand is embossed on the thick glass base. The name of the fragrance is printed on the bottle. The cap is milky and has an additional disc on the top as a design feature. All in all, it’s quite okay.
White Tea has become a lovely tea scent, just like most tea scents actually do. Of course, it has various weaknesses, such as the low longevity and sillage. Or, for all the pepper haters out there, the pepper that, at least in the initial phase of the fragrance, doesn't quite fit with the sweet notes and occasionally comes across more intensely than one would like.
Nevertheless, the scent remains mostly pleasant and fresh and is also something different than black or green tea. It fits well into the warmer seasons and could also be used for all sorts of occasions, but as always, due to the weak sillage, the fragrance unfortunately feels weak for going out.
However, for those who want to relax and enjoy a cup of tea now and then instead of immediately reaching for coffee (or beer? Vodka? Industrial alcohol?? Okay, I'm being a bit silly, but who knows what you all down your throats...) will find a nice scent with White Tea from Monotheme. Therefore, I would recommend giving it a test. But not a blind buy, in case you also don't like the pepper too much, although, as mentioned, the pepper isn't as bad later on.
