A silky smooth, perfectly balanced essence of wood
I got a sample of this from a friend and it's immediately become one of my top favorite fragrances. Everything about it is smooth: there's not a harsh edge or dissonant note in sight. It's so intensely woody that it reminds me of the smell of fresh sawdust on the floor of my dad's workshop - one of my favorite scents - and if I had to give someone a perfume example of what wood smells like, this would be it. Yet it's not at all aggressive or raw, but rather very refined. The vanillic notes are in just the right balance to the wood, not too sweet and not at all gourmand. There's not too much of anything. To me it's linear and smells delightful throughout its lifespan. I only have 1ml of this and use it very sparingly because it's so special to me, but one day I'd like to own a full bottle if I can ever justify the price.
Edit: I never really noticed it before reading the other reviews, but I think the oud in this is what makes it so special. It gives it this whole other dimension that sets it apart from your generic woody amber.
