Flower Nectar and Biscuit Pastry
Nuit Andalouse is simple, yet beautiful and extremely feminine. Floral, sensual, soft, and delicious. The gardenia is at the forefront, and in a blind test, I would have suspected that jasmine contributes significantly as well. Definitely a lush, full floral note, accompanied by a vanillic and slightly honeyed sweetness. This combination is very lovely, making me think more of flower honey, nectar - alone, the flower would probably be too meaty and harsh for me.
Despite this sweetness, the fragrance does not feel sticky at all, but rather relatively transparent and even somewhat fluffy. In the background, this vanilla reminds me a bit of a light, soft biscuit pastry.
In the base, it seems to me that something ambery has also been incorporated. The scent rests on a slightly balsamic base, which gives it a somewhat more oriental feel.
I am not familiar with the Jil from 1997, perhaps I would be disappointed then. And of course, Nuit Andalouse does not smell exactly like a night in Andalusia.
It also does not reach the opulence and high-quality appeal of the Chypre Palatin by MDCI, which I appreciate - even though they are completely different fragrances.
However, Nuit Andalouse is a beautiful women's scent. It feels harmoniously composed and quite valuable, but at the same time somewhat tailored; like surprisingly well-made mainstream. Yet precisely for this reason, it could certainly elicit a compliment or two.
