Contradictory, with both a modern metallic feel and an ancient sacred ritualistic sense.
The crisp opening exudes the greenness and bitterness of quinine bark, reminiscent of a last glimmer of light before death, enveloped in an intense greenness accentuated by aldehydes that evoke a metallic sensation, creating an opaque forest. The freshly lit incense floats lightly like mist around the body.
As the fresh and vibrant green subsides, the woody notes of pine and cypress gradually intensify in the middle, as if parting the dense foliage, touching the tree trunks, and intertwining with the smoky, cool-burning sensation that boldly climbs the softness of the plants.

With the passage of time, musk and frankincense resin become more velvety, merging with the sweat and oils of the skin, creating a hint of sensuality.
The incense burns throughout but gradually becomes tranquil, gentle, and hazy until the green is completely consumed.
Interestingly, this fragrance possesses contradictory qualities. It embodies both the modern, icy, metallic urban feel and the sacred and solemn essence of ancient mythology.
These two aspects subtly intertwine depending on the attire and the desired aura of the day.

Overall, it gives a dry, fresh, transparent, lightweight, elegant, and green impression. Interestingly, at higher temperatures, compared to the metallic green sensation of winter, the dry woody aspect becomes more prominent.

The character associated with this fragrance is not cold but rather cool. They have a calm and firm demeanor, gentle yet distant and aloof.
Additionally, whether influenced by the name or not, the imagery in my mind evokes a sense of ancient civilization and sacred rituals.
It portrays a stone temple covered in climbing greenery, where the echoes make it difficult to determine the origin of the sounds, surrounded by almost inaudible murmurs and chants, simmering beneath a calm surface.

L'Eau Guerrière No.20
This fragrance opens with a spicy, almost herbal, green accord, aldehydes being responsible for the sparkly green, slightly floral first impression. At first rather harsh, the fragrance quickly mellows into a more tranquil composition that reminds me very much like an exotic woodland, say in China. I smell woods, fragrant grass and unusual shrubs. Well blended and very relaxing, this fragrance is "zen" masculine; I'd say it is the more assertive brother to green, green, green. However, unlike that other fragrance it does not have a great presence, the vegetal green notes burn off rather quickly and after only 1 hour all I smell is spicy herbs/ wood with a touch of incense. This is a very sheer scent that progresses quickly. Lasts for merely three hours on my skin.

Nothing for the Faint of Heart
What a perfume!

Everything actually speaks against liking it, but it draws me in like a magnet. No flowers, no fruits, nothing flattering and yet... The warrior greets me with truly bitter notes, but not the unpleasant memory of an accidentally sucked headache pill, rather something akin to Fernet Branca or Campari fascinates me. I can't deny a tiny weakness for the Gothic scene. I've only had good experiences with the young people in black clothes, and the scent reminds me a bit of that. Meanwhile, L`Eau Guerrière radiates an incredible amount of power.

I really can't make sense of the SKY note in the heart. I have no idea what that entails. Whatever, the heavy notes of the base break through from the very beginning and accompany the scent, giving the bitterness warmth and fullness, and the incense adds a touch of mystique.

Herb, heavy, dark, and incredibly alluring, that's how I perceive this perfume, and if I belong to the modern Amazons according to Apizius - all the better. Yes, I could wear this scent with pleasure, especially on a glamorous evening when everything around me shines with N°5, Shalimar & Co. Just like a diva wearing a high-necked black dress with a back cutout down to the butt among all the pink frilly gowns, that's how I can imagine it.

I would certainly find it exciting to have L`Eau Guerrière in my collection.

Very niche
The new L’Eau Guerriere makes a particularly warrior-like impression at the start and lets two armies with opposing notes march in. A powerful scent for modern Amazons.

On one side, there is a very bitter, somewhat woody note. Cedarwood comes to mind, but that doesn't quite capture it. The bitterness can be traced back to bitter citrus peels, the incense, and surely other elements as well. And a type of citrus is also the counterpart. But it is not a classic citrus accord. It really tingles. Just like effervescent powder!

In the battle that initially rages, unfortunately, the effervescent powder gradually succumbs, and now everything becomes dry, bitter, creaky, and somewhat earthy. The role of the mysterious note "Sky-Aldehyd" remains hidden from me. I suspect it is responsible for a certain restrained sharpness.

A perfume that becomes bitter and sharp after some head note banter is quite rare. I sense a slight similarity to Terre d’Hermes. It also revolves around bitter cedarwood-vetiver and likewise bitter citrus notes. While Terre d’Hermes is still quite wearable, the concept of bitter notes is taken to the extreme here. Thus, it is a true niche perfume that may only truly please a few, even if many may acknowledge it.

With the devastating defeat of the effervescent powder army, a woody-creaky imbalance spreads. I can perceive neither musk nor oud in the base. Only incense in its bitterest form…

That's too much for me; I leave the battlefield!

Quick Victory of the Grassland Knarzinien Coalition over the Ice Warriors
I tested the fragrance because of its intriguing name: What might "war water" smell like?

Milliseconds after spraying, the association "ice candies" was there: Menthol freshness combined with sweetness. These blue-and-white hordes open the meeting with a daring offensive, which ultimately proves to be reckless, as it is based on a total overestimation of their own fighting strength.

After just a few minutes, at the latest after half an hour, the ice candies are already flattened, beaten down, and ground up, and for me, a very rich and spicy green initially dominates. It smells here still grassy-spicy and almost a bit damp.

The resinous-knarzy-woody-dry crowds, which are seen by other spectators as very predominant on the battlefield, come into play for me rather in a third phase, but unlike Blücher at Waterloo, only when the battle is basically already decided. However, they then establish themselves sustainably on the battlefield and embrace their green allies so intensely that, despite their quick victory, they might already be a bit weakened from the fight, leaving nothing behind. Knarzinien then dominates the field as the laughing third for a long, long time.

Postscript: I like the scent well; I don't find it all that niche and unbearable, but for me personally, it ultimately doesn't quite fit. I particularly appreciate the comments from Apicius and Angua, and I think my "ice candies" are what Apicius perceived as "fizz powder" and Angua as "sweet" and "citrusy."

A warm, green, woody, resinous and incense water, of pristine beauty, but whose performance does not justify its price, a shame.

Quietly, the pastor slips into his church. Alone with God. No one noticed the bright incense he used afterward.

Airy, becomes transparent but broad. Bittersweet zest, it fights, a bit mossy & woody,
valerian/incense/mastic, restrained animalic.

If you like frankincense, oud, and musk, you'll like this. More masculine, but very balanced with these ingredients and an original top note!

Initially refreshing, herbaceous + bitter. Liked it. Then watery, broad, and sweet, with a slightly sweaty incense. A hint of oud. Later woody. No animal notes.

Sweet, cooling spice from anise, with dry, woody greens coming through. A hint of smoke adds to the classic freshness for men. Feels good.

Dry. Bright. Clear air. Harsh metallic sound. Resin. Smoke. Wood. Slight musty sweetness. Fascinating but unfortunately too subdued...

Fresh, green, and herbal scent, I honestly don't know where the oud is supposed to be, nice incense, poor longevity and sillage!

Cool incense - more resinous than smoky. Pleasant airy wood notes come through. Nothing like oud! Clears the mind. But it's too weak for me.
