For fans Of Suede...
Cuirelle opens with a suede-like smooth and creamy leathery accord sweetened with traces of patchouli, before segueing into its waxy honeyed frankincense laced leathery heart with cinnamon and mild woody cedar accents providing support. The frankincense and cinnamon hang around though the dry-down as the suede dissipates leaving the scent slightly sweet during the base notes. Longevity and projection are both average.

Cuirelle is definitely not the leather scent I anticipated it to be. It rather is more of a slightly sweet frankincense fragrance with suede leather supporting it throughout. Honey to a greater extent and patchouli to a lesser one play significant roles in sweetening the scent while not altering it primary nature. I find myself truly enjoying this take on frankincense and leather and feel Cuirelle is a fine addition to the Monegal house. Hardcore leather purists may be somewhat put-off by it providing more of a "spirit" of leather presentation rather than a "straight" presentation as is usually found, but I find it rather intriguing and refreshingly different. Cuirelle is very good smelling and earns a strong 3.5 out of 5 star rating.

It's the Bee's Knees!
For the first hour I was not happy, I think the incense and patchouli came across as jumbled notes and sort of acrid. After an hour or so it finally gets interesting. If you like sweet, gourmandish type of scents then this might be for you. I loved the honey in Mugler's Havane so the beeswax and cinnamon make for a great combo that had me sniffing myself. This is truly a unisex scent that projected well, real well, for me.

Sex has no gender
Cuirelle is a dreamy leather fragrance. Or rather, the illusion of a sexy women's leather glove, perhaps in red - because leather is not really present here at all. The scent is thus a masterpiece in two respects - incredibly beautiful & also perfectly misleading. And despite the Elle in the name & the leather glove, which exudes sexiness & an unmistakable lipstick vibe, the fragrance can also be rocked by men at any time. Best described as a softer Dior Homme perfume. So exactly to my taste.

Cuirelle is sweet, leathery, powdery, even a bit alcoholically creamy at the beginning. Vetiver is thick & sweet here, leather delicious & radiant. One could also interpret a Tuscan Leather Pour Femme this way. Very closely related is also Daim Blond by Serge Lutens. Cuirelle is probably the best leather fragrance without leather. A very cuddly dream of perfect luxury leather, coated with a thin film of honey, beeswax & cardamom. Simply delicious, luxurious, indulgent - a scent for the diamonds among people. And everything is so finely woven that even leather haters will only look on in disbelief. As if silk merges with leather, it is akin to a miracle. Impressive Mr. Monegal, truly impressive!

Bottle: fits the leather theme excellently.
Sillage: subtle sexiness.
Longevity: commendable 8 hours.

Conclusion: one of the finest leather fragrances of all time & among the best from Ramon Monegal!

The most delicate leather scent even for those who don't like leather fragrances
Wow, this is definitely the finest leather scent I have ever sniffed. Or at least, Cuirelle smells subtly and elegantly of leather to my nose. Or perhaps more like a fine leather glove (white, crumpled, buttery soft) that someone has lovingly rubbed with beeswax.

When you think of bees, you easily think of honey; but I don't perceive a honey note, nor anything really sweet. More of a delicate waxy scent. And like Florblanca, I also perceive a fruity note -- I wonder where that might come from?

Neither patchouli, nor incense or cinnamon do I perceive here: nothing dark, earthy or spicy. If anything, there is a hint of smokiness, so subtle that it doesn't bother me as someone who usually opposes smoky tones.

And speaking of things I don't actually like: I don't really like the smell of leather either. But the note here has nothing to do with tanned animal hide. It only reminds me of a certain note that typically accompanies leather.

I find Cuirelle incredibly elegant and can best imagine it on well-dressed people. The scent would also suit leaders well, especially since it has the advantage of staying relatively close to the skin, never overwhelming, but still very long-lasting.

Even though Cuirelle is not a scent that fits my usual preferences, I find it exceptionally artistic, unique, and I can't find anything negative about it.

Oriental Vetiver in Glacé
Cuirelle suddenly makes me think of oriental nights, of soft silk in vibrant colors, of gold and gemstones, of the opulent elegance of dark-haired, erotic women with olive skin, of profound glances and secret signals with eyes and fans, of delicious wine and sweet dates, of honey and almonds - oh, I’m just getting lost in reverie…

Cuirelle is clearly an oriental fragrance, a finely fruity and dry-herb-sweet oriental with a powderiness that makes me wonder where it comes from. Neither sandalwood nor iris is listed as a building block, yet Cuirelle displays a clear, for me just acceptable powderiness. I find it very difficult to identify the individual scent components and accords in this fragrance, but I will try my best to do so.

Right at the beginning, I smell beeswax, with that typical, sweet, waxy honey note. Once this accord dissipates, I can perceive vetiver, albeit in a soft, muted form, as if the vetiver is wrapped in glacé here. The incense dares not show itself; it knows I don’t like it. It merely adds a very fine, subtle smokiness to Cuirelle. Patchouli shows its most beautiful side in Cuirelle - similar to the patchouli from Micallef that I recently tested. There’s no earthy, musty, or cellar-like note, but rather a dark, deep softness with a certain light sweetness. Cinnamon - which usually has a rather sharp and strong spicy scent - plays a more subordinate role in Cuirelle; it provides warmth and spice but is not explicitly noticeable.

Cuirelle settles on the skin like a light, soft veil, yet still shows a quite remarkable sillage and lasts exceptionally long.
In my opinion, it is a winter fragrance or a scent for the cooler season, and also a fragrance with distinctly feminine traits. Nevertheless, I believe it can also be worn well by a man; it just depends on the occasion.

Cuirelle is not a fragrance you wear to work or to a business meeting. Cuirelle is primarily worn for oneself and for the dearest person, as this fragrance conveys a familiar feeling, similar to coming home after a long journey…

Incense appears in combination with wax and slightly powderyness as soft and finely subdued. Delicate light leather accent impresses as well.

Now the whiskey
has fallen into the cinnamon :)
Cinnamon-spirity with a beeswax candle on the side -
soft leather meets earthy patch.

Powdery - cinnamon whisky in a cedar wood barrel, beeswax candle, patchouli - incense - vetiver
Incense sticks and once again woody Réunion vetiver & cedar, instead of leather ;)

Lovely scent. The boozy-spicy-leathery start quickly becomes powdery-sweet and subtle.
Great interplay of the fragrance notes.

Smells like a soft leather cloth soaked in beeswax polish for the wardrobe. Gently leathery, honey-gold, seductively spicy.

Sweet-balsamic scent with a spicy cinnamon twist, cola fizz, & creamy-spicy vanilla powdered sugar base. Subdued and a bit monotonous. High-quality.

Magical, smooth glove leather. Gentle vetiver with beeswax. Soft, warm + cuddly. Only the boozy note bothers me. Good.

A delicate leather glove as an accessory for a seductive woman. No leather ingredient + also unisex! An intriguing play with expectations.

Pleasant, yet subtle oriental with a hint of incense and softened patchouli from beeswax. For me, a gourmand. Faint.
