A beautiful and quite animalic Oud scent
The Soul of Oud truly surprised me. To my astonishment, this is an animalic Oud scent that I find really classy. The longevity on my skin exceeds 12 hours and the sillage is also impressive.

The top note offers an exciting combination of sweet cocoa with a subtly fruity undertone, which makes me think a bit of Jaffa Cakes. After that, it has a stable-animalic scent of Oud. In the heart note, it remains woody-oriental thanks to agarwood. Nutmeg and allspice also resonate. Over time, it smells intensely of rose water. The base has notes of Bourbon vanilla, cashmeran, amber, leather, and musk.

Those who find scents from Ensar Oud or Areej Le Doré too intense might want to take a "sniff" here. I thank Mo for the sample.

Oud cow
After reading a lot of positive things about Soul of Oud and its composition, I already had the thought that the scent would be "special." I was prepared for a harsh, dark fragrance note but slightly sweet. What I received was a scent that smells like a stable and processed pepper.

Not really suitable for going out, for work, for leisure, or for a specific season. At least for me personally.

Has nothing to do with Nefs, as some here write...

spectacular oud scent
I received a few samples from the house of Ramon Monegal and I must say Soul of Oud is fantastic. It opens with a quite pronounced oud, a bit animalic. The oud fades after about 10 minutes, leaving behind its smoky, woody, and elegant structure. It is one of those perfumes that makes you feel very comfortable. The evolution of the scent is a spectacle!

Initially animalic spicy-green, this slightly leathery, yet powdery oriental floral-woody fragrance, settles to a gentle earthy-woody base.

Oud perfectly balanced with chocolate, floral notes, vetiver, spicy, resinous, slightly smoky, leathery, powdery. Moderate projection.

Nighttime, a musty cellar in the heart of the woods. Toting a black leather bag full of blueberries; and I'm absolutely adoring this.

Chocolate opening, refreshed by birch with a floral-sweet rose bed. The oud is unfortunately more of a background player but it’s there somewhere.

Opening with gourmand chocolate + birch, then opulent oud with a hint of spice in the background. Perfect for oud lovers - absolutely multifaceted!

Rose-chocolate-oud with a subtle barn note. Similar to Alhambra Oud, but without the zesty apple note.

For me, it's the little sister of Nefs. The top note is unique. Is it the chocolate?
