Slovakian Siesta?

Let me start off by saying I am from Slovakia. In my country, similar to other countries in Central Europe, siesta is not a thing. We don't nod off after having lunch. I think, however, that it's a pretty cool tradition. Since it's not a tradition in Slovakia, I must enjoy my siesta in another way - in a liquid way!

Every time I spritz on some of this perfume, I feel relaxed. It sedates me. This perfume is packed full of iris, but it's not really a powdery iris, it smells more like buttery cookies to me. This, combined with the honey accord, vanilla and tonka bean does wonders to my nose! There is also a top note of heaven, that makes the perfume a bit lighter in the beginning, but the freshness fades quite rapidly. The sillage and longevity are really good, this stuff decorates my skin for 8+ hours.

Regarding the packaging, it is just great! The boxes feel nice, but the bottle is on another level. I have never seen a bottle that is so satisfying to work with. The way you can open and close it with a gentle flick is extraordinary - a truly 10/10 presentation. It is inspired by an inkwell and it can really decorate a shelf.

Underrated Iris

This is sweet, smooth and warm. It gives me the embodiment of a warm tea with sweet frothy milk. It doesn’t smell like tea itself, but it gives the comfort of one, but manages to be sexy at the same time, and not to mention strong! I put on two sprays to test and it was radiating off of me as if I had done way more. This is heavy on the Iris, vanilla and tonka and will announce your presence when you step in the room. I will wear it sparingly until Autumn arrives. I can just imagine how cozy it will be during that time of year. I am really surprised that I haven’t heard more about this perfume because it’s really that good!

Fresh, sweet, creamy iris. Master composition.

It's so hard to find something that's out of the box these days, and there's so much on offer in any niche, designer, or Arabic world—that it's impossible to know much, and most of the things I try are forgettable. that it is impossible to know much and most of the things I try are forgettable, very few are good and from time to time I meet something memorable, like what happened to me with Siesta. The first of its virtues is the occasion of use, it is a scent suitable for everything, although it could be left to rest at very high temperatures. Another virtue: the composition, takes the lucidity of lemon, with a fairly prolonged release that mixed with vanilla and honey gives a very pleasant dessert sensation, a very prolonged middle phase as well, more woody, with a creamy iris although not the protagonist, well perceptible, but the softness and creaminess of Siesta is something that surprises me, decaying in a more subtle way at the end. Siesta is the calm of a homey afternoon, the dessert baking at snack time, the close and cozy company.

Siesta - how wonderful is this fragrance? I read about this fragrance some time ago and the ingredients alone sent me into raptures. Honey, lemon, lavender... Only now have I been able to test the fragrance and I am blown away....
The bottle is green glass with the typical Monegal flip lid, very cool. Heavy and high-quality, yes, I like that.
When you spray it, you experience a really nice, zesty lemon note, not at all bitter or sour, just deliciously lemony. Woods gradually join in. I don't sense the honey at all, there is something sweet, but no laboratory honey, I can't define it. Cedar and vetiver bring a contemplative vibration, calming and positive serenity.
My concern that the fragrance might be too masculine for me proved to be unfounded. It is unisex through and through, the easily perceptible veil of fragrance covers the skin and makes me feel all fuzzy. I always want to smell it. On me like a second skin, clearly there, but not sweet or heavy and certainly not dominant. I think the fragrance also has good projection. I can smell Siesta on my skin for many hours until late in the evening and on my clothes the next morning. Incidentally, I think the musk in the fragrance is beautiful. No scratchy musk or bazaar musk like in many oriental fragrances, no, soft and very sexy.
For me, the fragrance is one of the best releases in 2023, it surprised me very positively.
I would like to have it around me or smell it on other people.

A siesta with a tropical summer cocktail and a shisha alà cake and lemon flavor. Very exceptional fragrance!

I've had it on my shopping list for quite a long time. Unfortunately, the brand is not stocked in all perfumeries and so I was forced to buy the blind and thank goodness it was worth it. I have to admit that you have to give it some time to understand it, but after 10 minutes it becomes a very good summer evening fragrance for me. Easy to wear even in colder seasons.
Later I'll tell you why I came up with this saying.

But let's get there..

The fragrance itself (9.35 out of 10):
Siesta by Ramon Monegal is a citrusy-sweet fragrance with powdery and creamy aspects. Minimal gourmand I would also say but not completely on track.

Top notes: Lemon and honey.
Don't be afraid! Yes, I'm not a fan of honey in most fragrances either. It's usually too sticky, dominant and sometimes even too animalic in perfumes, e.g. Back to Black by Kilian (which I don't like at all). Here I get something of the vibe in the first 30 seconds, but fortunately it subsides and the fresh, sour lemon gives a good twist of milder, creamy honey. Cedarwood adds a certain dry, fresh and pithy top note.

In the heart then come notes such as:
Iris, vetiver and jasmine. Not listed but I also smell coconut accords. Iris and jasmine give light floral notes in the fragrance. But the main player is the iris, which is powdery and slightly green. Vetiver gives this lemony dryness and harmonizes perfectly with the cedarwood. Coconut, which I perceive 100%, gives the fragrance a tropical kick and balances very well with the iris and jasmine.

The base is then joined by:
Musk, tonka bean and vanilla.
Siesta is slightly sweeter and fluffier!
Musk by no means animalic, but very clean and well balanced.

Longevity: 9.5 out of 10
On my skin it lasts 9.5 - 10 hours. On the clothes 12+ hours.
[PS: Spray routine varies for me depending on the fragrance, but here I would use 4 - 5 sprays].

Sillage: 9.4 out of 10
The sillage is very strong in the first 3.5 hours (almost beast mode), but only gets closer to the skin after about 8 hours. I personally still notice it after more than 9 hours!
Final rating: 9.4 out of 10
I bought the 50ml now before Easter with low stock on easycosmetics via the Idealo link the Siesta for 135 € and have to say for the P-L ratio: simply unbeatable as far as niche is concerned. If you think about it, this is Nasomatto 30ml price ratio! Great start in the brand, could have gotten both the Flamenco Extrait or Faisa which might be even better than Siesta but the Siesta is just currently I think the better choice as far as spring/summer is concerned now. Regarding the quote above: I haven't smelled such a complex yet pleasing fragrance in a long time. Imagine it's just before evening and you're smoking a cake/lemon flavored shisha at the beach bar (I once read a former statement on Parfumo about Da Bomb and Lemon Chill tobaccos). Afterwards, more people gather on the beach and the siesta starts with muke and all the trimmings. Later, you sip a tropical cocktail and take over the party completely. Well, enough with the stories hahaha. In a nutshell, it has a great scent that is really something to behold. Especially with the not typically correct arrangement of the fragrance notes, I'm just saying honey and cedar in the head instead of base. The longer you leave the fragrance to infuse, the better it becomes.
So Blindbuy was pretty successful, but it's really not a blindbuy candidate.
If I were to describe it now in a cramped way with even more well-known fragrances, for me it's a hybrid of Naxos by XerJoff with more honey, Ani X by Nishane (for the light cake vibes with ginger-lemon) and Malibu-Party in the Bay by Simone Andreoli (for the tropical notes in the fragrance alà non-listed coconut hehe).
