It's not that bad after all,..
.. but I do like it a bit more special sometimes. However, Ion Musk is also not exactly a "must have" in my eyes.

This Monegal has a subtle resemblance to Encre Noir by Lalique on my skin, but it can't really compete with it.

Once the alcohol note has settled in the top note, I perceive an accord of wood, vetiver, and a hint of musk, nothing more and nothing less. This accord is rather moderate than magnificent and does not develop any significant intensity. Just a simple skin scent.

Well, the thing with the ions in the fragrance seems to me to be somewhat similar to this "Isohespichshootmeupfragrance molecule thing." Like with religion, art, or politics, there will surely be followers and advocates of this, but I always believe only what I can see, in this case smell.

Alcohol Cleaner!
First of all, Florblanca, thank you for the great discovery of the brand Ramon Monegal. I am really excited overall, but Ion Musk is probably the worst perfume I have ever encountered. An absolute misstep or I simply do not understand the genius of Ion. At first, I only smell a biting note, pure alcohol for me, maybe with something ethereal like mint or eucalyptus. Then a very familiar note comes to me. I used to play a lot of table tennis, and I always cleaned my racket rubbers. The "perfume" smells exactly like my cleaning agent and hardly changes - except that it becomes a bit weaker. This product was not meant for household use with citrus and other fragrant substances. It was more like a fixing agent from the photo lab... Yes, I admit, eventually something like undefinable musk comes through. For that, it gets 10%, and the name is really cool, sounds nice and chemical - yet somehow fitting.
P.S: I am giving away my sample of Ion Musk. Please let me know, first come, first served. If anyone even wants this specialty.

Yes, well, uhhh…
With this scent, Señor Monegal leaves me quite perplexed. Wikipedia says:
"Ionization refers to any process by which one or more electrons are removed from an atom or molecule, so that the atom or molecule remains as a positively charged ion (cation)."
So positively charged musk molecules? I admit, the name overwhelms me a bit. Therefore, I prefer to focus on the scent.

But the scent also presents me with puzzles. It smells fresh, sweet, with very light, greenish floral hints, which I wouldn't really identify as flowers. The scent does not become dark, heavy, or overtly animalistic as it develops, although the animalistic accords are indeed perceptible directly on the skin. In projection, the sillage creates a pleasant, light, sweet, fresh fragrance - that's how I perceive it; unfortunately, it can't be described any better.

Perhaps this scent is Ramón Monegal's answer to the currently highly praised "molecule scents" - I don't know. For me, this little fragrance doesn't need to exist, I'm sorry.
