Have you ever counted Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Si backwards?
Here comes a fragrance named after one of the many scales and carries one of the chords in its name, in this case Si-Do, and no, I don't mean the German rapper Sido :D

Réminiscence wanted to show that musical terms have a lot in common with fragrance names, as is also written below in Parfumo. Because with fragrances, terms like chord or composition are often used. I find this concept interesting, but whether the fragrance is successful is another question.

Interestingly, most people can easily say the entire scale, that is, Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Si Do, but try saying it in descending order, that is, backwards :D
Well, it's not that easy, is it? It's probably just as difficult as reciting the alphabet backwards. While numbers pose no problem, it seems that with the alphabet, one struggles to continue fluently after Y or X :D

The Fragrance:
The fragrance starts with iris and is quite floral. The floral aspect is heavy and sultry, as it contains ylang-ylang, which always strikes me as described. Carrots, well, there is a little carrot in there, but it's rather minimal, as the distinctive scent of a carrot is usually quite recognizable and would pair well with iris (after all, an iris root does remind one a bit of grated carrots), but it is overshadowed by the more floral scents.
The powdery aspect of the iris still comes through, even though the fragrance, due to the sultry scent and a cardamom-like, not very pleasant note, does not seem very soft and beautiful.
You have to endure this for a few minutes before this olfactory impression fades a bit. Although the fragrance remains heavy and sultry, ylang-ylang smells nowhere near as bad as this described cardamom-like note, and besides, it seems that most ladies here are not really bothered by ylang-ylang, so you might enjoy the fragrance even more than I do.
In any case, the fragrance becomes significantly more powdery in the base, the carrot is only faintly detectable, but it soon fades as well. The fruity notes listed in the base are hardly noticeable, while amber slowly reveals itself and radiates its sweet scent, although the fragrance does not become truly sweet.

The Sillage and Longevity:
The sillage is rather normal, except for the heart note, and can be detected at short to medium distances, although it fades quickly.
The longevity is quite okay, lasting around six to eight hours.

The Bottle:
The bottle has a cylindrical-bell shape, is pink and opaque. On the front, you can see the logo and the name of the fragrance in golden letters. A golden band runs around the bottom of the bottle, displaying the brand name. A long, silky ribbon has been attached to the gilded neck, with the ribbons reaching down to the bottom. The cap is transparent and faceted, but appears slightly old-fashioned. All in all, a successful, very beautiful bottle.

Um… are you still reading my comment here or are you still trying to say Do Si La Sol Fa Mi Re Do, that is, the DoReMi backwards? :D
He he, as I said, it’s not that easy, is it? Even when you should read it, you sometimes stumble because it’s just unfamiliar. But it’s surely a great brain-training opportunity or something… I think…!

In any case, the fragrance, despite its beautiful bottle, has not become a standout and is simply a standard, powdery iris scent with somewhat heavy floral notes like ylang-ylang and occasionally bothersome, heavy elements like cardamom, which fortunately only lasts a short time.

Fragrance-wise, it’s a scent for autumn and winter, but perhaps still usable in spring. It could be worn well during the day, but there are nicer fragrances for the evening. You can test it, but in my opinion, it’s not a must.

And here’s a little help for saying it backwards:

Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Si Do ->
-> Do Si La Sol Fa Mi Re Do … :DD

… hm… now I could start humming… sol sol sol re# la# sol re# la# sol…. I’m a nerd, I know… :D

quickly save the honor of this fragrance...
Contrary to other reviews, in my opinion, the fragrance does not smell carrot-like at all... but apparently, it differs on every skin.

I really love the four Gourmand notes (I'm still desperately looking for a decant of Dragee).

Si Do is a good example of an extremely sweet, yet never TOO sweet fragrance... without sticky sweetness.
For although the sugar note reminds one of warm cotton candy at the fair, it is much more powdery than sticky in nature.

The fragrance is thus wonderfully rounded, with a slight citrus note but never sour, beautifully powdery but never "old".

I also love the violet note (which perfectly matches the purple color of the pretty bottle).

This fragrance is most similar to the pink Gourmand notes (pink Nivea powder), I think.

The other two lean more towards a pistachio/citrus vanilla direction.

I'm almost hesitant to wear Si Do too often, so I don't end up getting enough of the sweetness (that would be a shame if I got "nose blind" to it...
So far, however, that hasn't happened, and I am still, exactly 24 (!) hours after spraying it on, thrilled with the longevity... a delicate violet note has remained on my wrist and has even "survived" the Beleaf from the Body Shop that I applied in the meantime.

Thumbs up for this powdery-light violet candy!

Septime and Octave
Septime and Octave = Si Do
The last steps of the scale SI and Do!

I would describe Si Do as a musical interplay of several fragrance notes that, when viewed as a whole, represent a rounded melody!

The scent is hard to describe, as (at least for me) I can't really pick out the individual notes!

Upon first application, one perceives a citrus sweetness, with lemon being particularly prominent!

The fragrance hardly changes on my skin, and I definitely catch whiffs of iris, pear, and (who would have thought) sweet carrot (!)

Woody notes are present but do not dominate!

A light musky touch and the long-lasting vanilla give the composition a soft, powdery finish!

A cozy scent for snug winter evenings! For going out, at least for me, it's unsuitable... a fragrance needs to have a bit more depth for that!

Conclusion: Good, but I wouldn't buy it because it doesn't fit my preferences ;-)

XOXO, Mona

You Must Spray It...
...!

Upon the first spray, an unusual, musty scent reaches me, telling me: please don’t sniff any further. And this is already the third attempt on different days. It reminds me a bit of the musty smell of the fragrance "Rosa Incantevole III Rose Iris," which, as a rose lover, doesn’t come across as rosy at all. I’m still working with this scent. That’s another story.

But moving on: if I keep my arm as far away from my body as possible and then, without thinking about it, bring it back to my body, the following happens: it doesn’t smell bad at all. No, in fact, it smells quite good. If I were one of my rabbits, I would surely bite my arm. More and more, the scent on my arm develops into a carrot dish, nicely warm and creamy cooked. I even think I’m hip!

As my hallucinations slowly dissolve, my ears return to their normal, relatively small shape, my teeth become presentable again, and the silly tail disappears, I sit satisfied and content on the sofa and have to say: it’s exhausting, but it was worth it. I’m slowly getting closer to the scent, and this could lead to something between us.

Maybe I’m not a rose lover after all, but rather love little carrots?

Towards the end, the scent becomes nice and soft, which I really like. But I still couldn’t identify a specific nuance of the aforementioned notes individually. It’s more of an overall composition.

However, for everyday wear, the scent is certainly not for me; the transformation is too elaborate and exhausting, and I don’t always have the time for that.

I’m also not giving a rating for the scent at the moment - I first need to recover!

Evil Carrot
Si Do is a test of endurance.*gg*
I don't like it.

Mainly, I smell carrot here, and it’s still citrusy fresh and smoky. Yes, my beloved iris is also present, but it has actually hidden itself in the carrot, and the carrot is still buried alongside dead worms and insects.

I find the scent to be very animalistic, meaning it stinks, and this hint is constantly surrounding me now. I can't identify the other notes, and I don't want to, because it stinks tremendously.
Although I don't want to say that it stinks abominably, there are worse things. But for my nose, it’s an olfactory disaster.

Less gourmand and more of a powdery iris with carrot and light fruity notes, and more masculine than some Diors. Beautiful!

That's funny! Smells just like my Jil Sander lipstick that I wore at my wedding over 25 years ago ;-)

Delicious-fruity-gourmand. Creamy-smooth, slightly spicy + sandalwood creamy. Nothing innovative, yet good.

Grated carrots with a bit of sugar (loved it as a child!), plus dry-powdery iris. Less sweet than "Dragee" and "Do Re." Interesting!
