From Limited Edition to Permanent Collection
It is no coincidence that this originally limited fragrance from Rituals has made it into the permanent collection. My friend found in this scent what many search for long. And we really bought a looooot of stock from the Limited Edition until it appeared in a different color scheme in the store a few months later.

But let's talk about the fragrance itself. The Black Currant is very prominent right at the beginning and is both tart and soft. The entire perfume smells very fruity at first. After a short time, the Vetiver becomes quite noticeable. And in a very pleasant way. The scent is really very rounded. It is beautifully woody and lasts relatively well. In the first hours, it is clearly perceptible. When my friend applies it, you can really smell it strongly at first, and it is truly enveloping. Only after a few hours does it fade.

And when you look at the price, I can only say that the price-performance ratio of this fragrance is truly unbeatable. It's also particularly great that there are small sizes available. If you're unsure about the scent, you can test it out first or have the perfect mini for on the go ready at hand. A wonderful fragrance that can certainly be worn unisex, but I personally prefer it on my friend.

Woody Spice in Light
Nuit d `Azar starts fresh, fruity. After a few minutes, I notice a slightly soapy shaving foam, -water vibes. This is a phase of the fragrance that I don't particularly like. However, this phase only lasts a few minutes. After about 10 minutes after spraying, I can already smell the vetiver, combined with spicy notes, which I really like. Now nothing smells disturbing or unpleasant anymore. The fragrance hardly changes from this point on. I am always on the lookout for a vetiver scent that catches and excites me. And this one is one of them. So far, I have only found very, very few vetiver fragrances that appeal to me. Nuit d `Azar is a type of fragrance that I generally like very much, this combination of spice and woodiness with a very subtle sweetness and dreamy, well-perceptible vetiver. And that is also what remains at the end of Nuit d `Azar. The fragrance is not intrusive and not particularly strong, making it suitable for everyday wear, during the day, and also good for the office. You can spray it generously. Scenting clothes and hair helps to extend longevity. For me, by the way, it is an absolute unisex fragrance. So ladies, don't be put off by the fact that the fragrance is marketed by Rituals as a men's scent. This applies to many men's fragrances from Rituals. I now have 4 of them and enjoy wearing them all. But of course, you have to like that sort of thing. Nuit d `Azar is my absolute favorite for autumn and winter from Rituals (but it can also be worn well in warmer weather). I also like it to be gourmand and sweet in the cold, but I also enjoy something a bit heartier, crisper, "more masculine." I think it’s great that Rituals offers both small sizes of 15ml that you can easily take with you and large bottles. By the way, the sprayers of Rituals perfumes are very good.

Holiday Surprise....
I discovered the fragrance in the overwhelmingly good Rituals store in downtown Amsterdam. And yes, the store is really great, and you can explore the truly good scents from Rituals in a pleasant atmosphere on the 2nd floor.

But this is about the Nuit d' Azar... And I must mention upfront that, in my opinion, the fragrance has been relaunched, as the bottle design has been made much more turquoise and has taken on a longer shape. Whether it has been reformulated, I cannot say, as I smelled it for the first time in the store but also bought it right away... ;-)

Now to the scent. I must honestly say that the EDP has surprised me very positively. The citrusy herbal opening with the sage really lasts a long time, and it then develops into a pleasant woody-vetiver scent that I could still smell after showering. I get very little to no raspberry and blackcurrant... I would estimate the longevity at about 8 hours, and the sillage is also good for a 40 euro fragrance.

The bottle is also very well made for the price... especially with the wooden cap, it looks very elegant.

Conclusion: For the low price, you really get a great citrusy masculine fragrance that, in my opinion, can compete with fresh niche fragrances. But in general, I can recommend everyone to simply visit the next LARGE Rituals store and take a sniff around. (...The Oudh pour Homme is also really great...)

My Summer Fragrance 2023
I haven't shared my thoughts on any fragrances for a long time, but now that winter has set in and one is lazily sitting in the warm room, not wanting to go outside and freeze one's bald walnut sack, I thought to myself: "Come on, boy! Do something somewhat meaningful!"
I liked the idea of choosing a fragrance that I actually wore quite often this year. At first, I thought of Jil Sander Sun Men, but I only applied that after swimming. After a brief consideration, it clearly became this Rituals Nuit D‘ Azar. (Since my head is filled with wood wool, I have absolutely no idea how to pronounce that.)

I have often visited the Rituals stores when I had no idea what to gift the other gender; something like that always scores points! My dear mom was happy with a mix package, as was my aunt. On this occasion, I of course couldn't resist looking for something suitable for myself as well. I first thought of the shaving cream from the Samurai line, but that wasn't for me. Instead, I ended up with this fragrance. Since I am now very cautious with purchases regarding fragrances, I first took the 15ml bottle.
I too grew up in this consumption society devoured by capitalism, and since we quickly lose interest in certain things and then want something else, I considered this to be only reasonable.
Done and done. At first, it was just a travel bottle for me. When we were in Amsterdam, then a month later at the North Sea in Konstanz by Lake Constance... I liked this fragrance more and more the more often I wore it. There has only been one other fragrance that was like this...

The opening starts quite fresh, with a light citrus note, really light, hardly noticeable, along with an aquatic freshness, almost like an ocean breeze, and you immediately get a whiff of something "earthy-smoky." Brutal! Almost elegant.
In the drydown, it doesn't change much either. Only the aquatic citrus note fades away, and the smoky aspect moves to the forefront.

I wore it in the summer, but in my opinion, you can confidently wear it all year round; it truly is an all-rounder. Whether casually for shopping, on a date, for occasions, or even at work, it's absolutely acceptable. Additionally, it is quite unobtrusive and doesn't take your breath away. (Dior Hypnotic Poison)

This once again proves: it doesn't always have to be multifaceted and complex to be convincing. Onions also have many layers, but they still don't smell really good...
Of course, if someone is looking for a fragrance that smells different every 10 minutes or a mixture that is so extensive that you can't even define what you're smelling, this is not the place.

I am the type of person for whom fragrances usually don't last long, which unfortunately also applies to my favorite... but this Rituals is still perceptible on me even after half a day. I love it, and it has made it into my "Alltime Favorites." The bottle stands in its packaging in the living room on the secretary, always within reach.

If you boys ever don't know what to do nice for your dear mom, whether for Mother's Day or her birthday, or just as a little gift, then check out Rituals. And then wander over to the fragrances and give it a test. Maybe it will be worth it for some of you.

Thank you for your attention.

A Dream in Fruits
I admit, I wasn't convinced by the scent the first time I visited the Rituals shop. I then took the liberty of spraying it on my skin. What can I say, I'm very glad I did. The top notes came through very well on my skin as I left the shop. A dream of blackcurrant rose to my nose paired with citrus notes, and at that moment, I was already convinced. Since I had a few things to take care of, I let it sit for a bit longer, and after half an hour, I realized there was more to it than just a delicious blackcurrant. It became a bit fruitier and spicier. The latter was probably due to the subtle sage. What I could still identify well was the patchouli. Overall, I wore the scent for 60 minutes and even went back to the city to pick up a large 50ml and a 15ml bottle. Unfortunately, the longevity on the skin is limited. After about 4 hours, there is nothing left to smell on the skin. The sillage is okay but not outstanding. In my opinion, it doesn't always have to be. Nevertheless, I give it a clear purchase recommendation.

I would describe the scent as fruity fresh with a hint of oriental flair.

Blackcurrant with your typical blue amberwoods. The blackcurrant here is what makes it unique. Drydown is somewhat boring. Friendly price.

Reminds me a lot of Ferragamo F, Chanel Bleu, and Van Cleef's In New York. Nothing unique, well suited for summer.

Fruity start, slightly sweet green, reminiscent of shower gel, tonka-like finish. Quite a decent scent of the times.

The blackcurrant is unfortunately only briefly noticeable at the beginning. Then the scent becomes shower gel-fresh-woody and slightly metallic.

I find the combination of blackcurrant with vetiver more than successful .. absolutely unisex .. top!

Starts off great (spicy, fresh, lush), but after 30 minutes it turns into a pleasant, generic scent based on tonka.

Fruity, slightly sweeter version of Grenadille Afrique. Mild blackcurrant meets spicy-woody vetiver. Not bad at all.

One of my go-tos.
It flies a bit under the radar, a little more kick wouldn't hurt it!

Fresh-fruity-spicy-synthetic. A hidden gem with amazing P-/L-V. Reminds me a bit of Bois Imperial. Great berry freshness with vetiver.
