The Ritual of Oudh pour Homme Rituals 2019

First of all: I thought long and hard about whether I should order this fragrance. I know the Oudh shower foam from Rituals and I really enjoy using it. But buying a fragrance from Rituals? Well, I was rather reluctant. These body shops thrive on advertising and a certain trend. Can a premium fragrance emerge from that? Well - I'm currently looking for nice oud scents and the price is initially completely reasonable. I didn't expect much at first.
So I ordered it after all.
When I sprayed it on, I was surprised for the first time. Wow, great opening! Immediately, I perceive an oud note that doesn't immediately remind me of a cow shed. I am certainly no professional nose, but I have always smelled these farm associations in oud fragrances in the budget segment. For me, that’s rather off-putting. (Although this fragrance isn't exactly cheap).
Unmistakably, there is also a leather note that aligns itself behind the oud and, together with the pleasant but noticeable fresh tobacco, creates a wonderful symbiosis for me. I hardly notice the patchouli, and the bergamot remains hidden, slightly visible in the background, but evokes a feeling of freshness in the opening.
For my part, I also perceive a slight cinnamon note, which is not listed in the pyramid.

Over time, the fragrance loses its freshness and cinnamon-tobacco spice, and a pleasant, no longer so oriental, dark but unremarkable oud-leather blend lingers on the skin in the drydown for a long time.

This fragrance truly smells high-quality oriental, even if it doesn't reinvent the wheel. The scent radiates really well for about 5 hours, and the base note can still be perceived closely after 10 hours.

I am glad I ordered this fragrance. A clear recommendation for oud beginners, even if the mixture and the base tone can certainly also be perceived in some other oriental oud perfumes.

I am a big fan of Oud and always on the lookout for new Oud fragrances.

For the price, it's an incredibly naturally smelling perfume with a certain depth and complexity. The leather adds an extra touch of masculinity to the slightly sweet Oud scent. In the dry down, it loses some sweetness and becomes darker/woodier, which I really like.

On the skin, it's perceivable for 10+ hours and the sillage lasts for about 8 hours.

At 47E/50ml, it's a great fragrance that I would recommend to any Oud/wood lover.

Last month we moved into a new beautiful apartment, my wife absolutely had to get new room fragrances first, always the first thing after a move!
When I came home that evening, I was immediately greeted by an absolutely incredible scent, which was due to the Rituals Ritual of Oudh, I was absolutely thrilled and immediately dropped all my prejudices against Rituals!
Until now, I always thought Rituals would smell cheap, unrefined, and poorly crafted, but I was very wrong. The next day I immediately went to Rituals to test their fragrances, and lo and behold, I found that I would almost claim 70% of them were really good!
Ultimately, it was the The Ritual of Oudh pour Homme
And what can I say, I've never smelled anything this good in this price range!
In the opening, it has something of the "Oud (Eau de Parfum) | Acqua di Parma," starting with zesty bergamot, quickly followed by oud and tobacco, and slowly the leather note builds in the background to move further forward, gradually the patchouli comes through and makes the scent incredibly rounded, absolute masterclass!
It can easily compete with many niche fragrances and even has significantly better longevity and sillage than the Oud Eau de Parfum
Maybe I should just let go of my prejudices against certain brands, otherwise, I might have missed out on this gem!!

I received this fragrance as a gift and I am completely amazed from the first touch of the beautiful bottle and the first sniff.
If someone had given me a test strip without saying what it was, I would have spontaneously thought of Nishane. Not of a specific scent, but of the house's DNA.
Oud, earthy patchouli, smoky tobacco, and slightly sweet leather together create a very rounded, appealing oriental. If you are into this particular direction, you should definitely check out this fragrance at this price.
My insider tip: layer it with Infinity by Montale, which adds sweetness and more depth to the composition.
But even solo, the fragrance is a lot of fun, and I find myself wanting to spray it on at home again and again.

New to the niche and interested in the oud segment, I sought out a sample of Harada based on the positive reviews here.

When I first sprayed a little on my wrist, I thought: OK, it smells like a pleasant room fragrance... a spontaneous thought of one of those scent diffusers with wooden sticks in it. But I was unsure - do I want to wear a room freshener on me?

Today was the practical test: two sprays from the 5ml tester on my wrists/forearms and one on my neck. At first, there was a slight mustiness. Like grandma's wardrobe... I was a bit disappointed. But somehow I wanted to give it a chance, and half an hour later, the scent "cleared" up and then lasted with its immense longevity for the next 10 hours.

Straightforward, pleasant, light oud scent, a bit of patchouli and herbal freshness, without coming across as "cold." The sillage seems to fit as well, at least a colleague came into my office and said: "Hmm, what smells so good here?" Clearly: My room fragrance perfume!

For oud beginners, I give a clear recommendation, and in my view, it's unisex wearable. The bottle also looks chic and will probably soon join my collection as an everyday oud.
