Wellness a la India
Whether it's Body Shop, Yves Rocher, Lush or Rituals - I find that there are treasures to discover at incredible prices with all of them. There are hardly any underrated brands. In shopping centers like Centro, I prefer to stop there ten times over rather than in the next typical, well-known perfume shop like Pieper or Douglas - it’s just the way it is & I absolutely recommend it to everyone. And by the way: I think fantastic fragrances (e.g. White Musk For Men) can compete not only with perfumes that are three times more expensive, these beauty shops work behind the scenes, in my opinion, with talented & great perfumers, even if they are not always named. And Rituals has always been one of the pioneers for me. The fact that wonderful scents like the one with lemongrass or vetiver are apparently not permanently produced or at least not currently sold is a special argument to act quickly. Therefore, I didn't hesitate long this time.
"Eau des Indes" stood out even more from an already fine lineup. The spiritual, delicious & relaxing scent smelled so special, so enchanting & different from everything previously before my nose, that it left a lasting impression. The scent, marketed more towards femininity, reminds me of relaxation, wellness & luxury hotels in the best Bulgari Eau the Vert style, but with an Indian twist. Grand New Delhi Hotel. Lemon & white tea flatter superficially & can work wonders after a hot bath. Underneath, however, the scent is firmer than expected & not so watery & fresh. With a zesty hint of cedar & Indian spices, the weekly market of the billion-state is brought into the five-star hotel. With a high proportion of airy, white musk & a few water flowers, one can generally sign off on a feminine direction. But nowadays, even a man can enjoy a little pampering. There is certainly the greatest similarity to the white tea scent from Bulgari, but as mentioned, it was novel enough for a purchase. Over time, it does become a bit boring & easy to see through, but it remains just as easy to wear.
Bottle: niche quality - and that for €39 - insane!
Sillage: subtle, typical wellness
Longevity: fades quite quickly - 3-4 hours.
Conclusion: anyone who enjoys hotel, room, wellness & luxurious relaxation scents should stop by Rituals at the next opportunity: this is a fine meditation scent for everything & everyone!
