Enraptured Serenade
The serenade begins dark and slightly citric. And everything's kind of subdued. Now one could assume that this scent radiates best with a suit or in any other elitist round. Designed for that alone. For the called price this is at least very obvious.
Serenade evokes a little the resonance of the sounds of Rojas Diaghilev for me. Only this Boadicea "stands" in the olfactory perception well 2 meters away from the carrier. He seems unreal. Rapture. Like it's just a hummed song. A beautiful, familiar theme that is repeated as you "play" it in your head over and over again. Don't get me wrong. A quieter version of Diaghilev sounds very appealing in principle. This is due to clear parallels in head and base note, which sound similar here. But it doesn't stay with that impression. After a good hour this spirit of great days says goodbye - increasingly - and a fresher, younger - but also more well-known - chord round dance paves its way.
More and more a performance of Frederic Malles - French Lover, with his light angularity, is established. Also here the somewhat dry, almost dusty smoky wood sounds very nice under the Cyphre. But again somehow restrained and dull.
Now it all sounds like a swan song to a rare scent that is once again only available in Russia and will therefore come under the nose of only a few for testing. However, the parallels I perceive are intended more as a hint - for lovers of the fragrances mentioned. Serenade is perfect for this target group.
A darker, woody-smoky Cyphre, which will very well claim its own place, but could remain a rare treasure for die-hard BtV fans.
