Lavender synthetic is cushioned by wood and vanilla - Cavalli aims for the youth!
Generally, Cavalli has an established fragrance portfolio for me. Many unisex scents, little for the youth. The house obviously wanted to change that now by launching one of the ugliest bottles in 2025 for very little money. Does that influence my rating? Not at all. The smallest version actually doesn’t look as bad as the large one.
You get a very familiar start here. The synthetic lavender makes its appearance in combination with a also synthetic vanilla, and I immediately associate it with "Althaïr | Parfums de Marly." You don’t necessarily have to compare these two fragrances, but they do have certain similarities due to the interplay of vanilla and lavender. If you then swap the orange present in Althaïr for woody notes, you get "Just Cavalli Give Me Magic for Him | Roberto Cavalli." It is very clear that this house wanted to target a younger audience, and I think they have succeeded quite well. Also, because the synthetic never comes across as unpleasantly (drugstore) cheap to me. The spiciness and freshness balance well with the vanilla, making it wearable; even if you can find this DNA in countless other fragrances.
But beware: fans of leather and incense will be disappointed here, because despite the listing of these actually very prominent notes, I don’t perceive any of them!
Maybe it’s because of Cavalli that I am a bit more lenient. I like the house, I get along well with the synthetics they use. But on the other hand, I can understand if someone wouldn’t even bring such a bottle into their home. It has a solid longevity somewhere between 6-8 hours, but it holds back significantly in terms of sillage after an hour. A release that has gone unnoticed, although it is a fair deal…
