In Doubt for the Accused
I just bought my first Creed, even though I'm not really a big fan of this brand. And although the fragrance I purchased doesn't actually belong to my preferred scent direction at all. Moreover, it seems to have been discontinued for quite some time, if we are to believe the Creed website and the comments below.
So, guilty on all counts in terms of the charges and yet acquitted? Why is that? Quite simply because "Vetiver" smells exactly as Apicius describes it in his comment. And because the little, spontaneous test sprayer from last night under my shirt sleeve (all other spots were already taken) hasn't let me go, and I could hardly wait to return to the place of temptation today and take my prize with me. The big red sign with the print "20% off all Creed fragrances" that I still had in mind made my mission all the more enticing.
As already hinted, Apicius has perfectly described the scent, so I will unusually refrain from doing so. Just maybe this much: "Vetiver" smells like 4711 but without the grandma behind it. Elegant, timeless, masculine! I really needed such a typical gentleman's scent in my collection. Because with "La Nuit de L'Homme" etc., you might attract a cheeky teenage girl, who, however, becomes even more annoying after an hour than the baiting scent. But with "Vetiver," it's about the real deal...
