It's not the now-classic rose-oud combo
Camouflage is a well-crafted fragrance. It’s a rose-oud combination that is simply different. This scent has actually been around since 2011. Here, the focus is more on the rose, the oud is relatively tame, and the sandalwood is a bit more intense. Additionally, the fragrance has a noticeable veil of incense.

The scent starts off directly with this relatively intense rose. This is also the point that personally doesn't appeal to me that much.
I'm just not a huge rose fan. It's well done, but not in a way that I can really warm up to. Along with the rose, there is a woody facet present from the very beginning. This rose-wood combo makes up the essence of the fragrance.

Relatively quickly, a noticeable incense note also comes into play.
The incense blends with the rose-wood combination. There is also a slightly bitter note detectable. The oud now comes a bit more to the forefront, but indeed very tame. It doesn't come across like in classic rose-oud fragrances.

The performance is good for me.
The scent lasts about eight hours on my skin and projects quite sufficiently.

I'm in my garden...
... on a late spring day. I sit on my bench at the entrance to the flower and herb beds. I lean back relaxed and let the sun burn on my face. From the beds, I get the sweet scent of roses and the spices that they release after watering.

When applying this fragrance, the first thing that hits the nose is a woody, slightly bitter rose scent. Soon, the aromas of spices (even though they are not listed in the fragrance pyramid) join in. The musk gives the perfume a dry note. The oud also makes its presence known with a strong smoky accord that lingers throughout. This remains until the very end. Simone Andreoli has created a fragrance here that has edges and corners.

The longevity and sillage are very good.

Here we have a fragrance that is made for both ladies and gentlemen, so it is a unisex scent. However, I still see it more on men as it has a strong masculine accent. I would also say that this very mature fragrance is best suited for those in their late 20s to early 30s to start wearing it. It can be worn year-round. During the day, it can be worn with a light application in the office, at a meal, an event, or even while shopping. In the evening, I would apply more to wear it in the disco, at the bar, in the club, or simply at a party, and it will definitely stand out. One must also be clear that this fragrance is very edgy and angular. Not for beginners.

If you enjoy a woody, slightly bitter rose oud smoky dry spicy scent, this one is just right for you, provided you are not afraid of standing out strongly, whether positively or negatively.

Well-Camouflaged Everyday Oriental Hit
By now, I test my still "open for a report" samples here more or less blind. Without a second look at the fragrance pyramid, manufacturer, or other reviews. And with "Camouflage," it was worth it - because I would have only very conditionally, probably not at all, associated it with "rose-oud" combos at first sniff. This is to be interpreted as a total pro!

"Camouflage" is very soapy-resinous. Almost to be categorized in the chypre area. An unusual combo - especially considering what one might expect. Only late does the oud-rose heart reveal itself. Before that, it hardly gives away any of its true identity. Very good. Very wearable. Very pleasant. More on the masculine spectrum, but what does that even mean (nowadays)? Maybe I like it better than most because of its above-average alluring vetiver note. "Camouflage" suits me. It fits between us. It even has signature skills. Green, bold, no need to struggle. A benefactor without a need for attention. Freshly washed twice daily and yet with desert blood. Clean and not pure. Shimmering on the surface and yet with enough depth. Quiet and yet always saying enough. Bright at first glance, characteristically dark on the second. Definitely worth testing - but rather if you prefer vetivers over rose-ouds!

Bottle: unspectacular
Sillage: a subtle "I'm here"
Longevity: 7-8 hours and more - Quality Piece of Work!

Conclusion: let someone say again that you can't extract new facets from the "oud-rose" combo... Andreoli has achieved a very soapy, pleasing, and almost office-appropriate (!) interpretation here. Absolutely fine.

Camouflage - as if or like?
Yesterday, the travel package from Fluxit arrived, thank you very much for that! :)

First, I tested Camouflage. Since "Statement" seemed too short to me, I’m now writing a comment about it. But it won’t be too long, as there isn’t much going on in the scent.

First, I perceive a light rose-oud combo. We’ve had that a thousand times, and unfortunately, I don’t notice any incense at all. Everything comes across as quite synthetic, and I feel a bit annoyed.
But I hope the woods in the base will do something good.

Since there’s construction noise in my house again, I flee to my friend’s place to have more peace.
Two hours in, and nothing has changed.
Light, synthetic oud and rose, both of the kind that I don’t like. At some point, I’ve had enough and spray Bois d'Iris from TDC (from my friend) on my neck to have something nicer around me.
I keep sniffing at my wrist.
Nothing changes.

Only hours later does the base come through - although, there’s actually no pyramid here, but at least the synthetic rose-oud combo has finally fled.
But the base is by no means better. Rather musty and dirty musk, I’m disappointed...

This is certainly not reinventing the wheel; the only plus point is the subtle sillage, because otherwise this scent would have gotten even more on my nerves. I can’t say anything about the bottle, but the samples produce a fine mist, and the longevity seems to last almost forever for me. In any case, the base was still there when I went to sleep, about 6 or 8 hours after I first sprayed it.

Conclusion: For me, it’s rather a boring scent without a single surprising component, subtle sillage, good longevity. Maybe someone else will find it better; I would have wished for more incense and woods, but the sillage can remain subtle - however, I’ve smelled much better fragrances on this topic, and I simply don’t need this scent.

Unremarkable rose-wood blend. No oud whatsoever.

Dark ebony wood & oud meet lush rose, wrapped in musk & incense. Deeply woody & rich.

Blood-red roses kissed by elegant woods, gently enveloped in incense and caressed by fluffy musk. Soft, yet so sensually beautiful.

Despite my aversion to rose-oud scents (and especially the overdone theme), I like this one for its distinction.

Well-known song
Dark yet creamy woods
Wrapped in oriental rose
A hint of smoke
Smelled it too often
I'm slowly getting tired of it
Yawn

A very pleasant and noble oud-rose. I sprayed it on my coat and it lasted at least 2 weeks. It would be an absolute candidate.

Sweet, boozy rose with oud and creamy sandalwood. I can't pick out any incense. Not bad, but not my thing.

It smells nice with rose, sandalwood, and musk, but it doesn't last long. I can't pick out the other notes.

Rose? - Yes!
Wood? - Yes!
Resin? - Yes!
Want? - No!
Something earthy and sharp bothers me, and the incense is rather dirty. A clear NO!

Overwhelmed by a spicy woody rose, you slowly get the Oud with a smoky powdery note in your nose.
