I'm offended

A little bit by the scent itself, but more-so by the fact that people are comparing this to Nefs. If this is a Nefs dupe, it does an absolutely TERRIBLE job at that.

"The Secret Collection - Scirocco | Moresque" opens with an apple-saffron top which you can instantly tell is the loud-screechy-synthetic component of the blend. What I notice flanking the apple-saffron top is a DNA similar to that offered by Initio, it specifically remind me of the Blessed Baraka dry-down. When I first smelled Scirocco up-close, I couldn't really separate anything different than what is in the air, outside of the added prominent rubbery tones.

After around 5-10 minutes, the base tones start to show up. To further support the idea that it isn't Nefs, the main base tone is a moderate leather. I would say the flanking patchouli is also prominent, as is the cedar note. You may also notice the elemi starting to pop with a dry amber feel. In the air, the scent has remained driven by the synthetic-rubbery saffron. The cardamom-saffron top don't actually add any relevant sweetness to this scent, they just add a lot of spiciness that makes the scent uncomfortable to be around without an open environment.

Loud performance with mild twists & turns as the scent evolves, overall excessively dependent on the saffron/warm spice accord. Overall, the blend quality cannot make up for the cheap-smelling components. Leans masculine, expected longevity around 12 hours with strong-leaning sillage in a hotter environment. Fall-winter only.

My saffron N1

This is my latest acquisition and I am impressed!
In general, I have a difficult relations with saffron as a note and here it is a main one. And I can say that this is the first addictive saffron I come across. In summary about the fragrance - this is saffron blended to perfection with resins, spices and fruits, spicy and sweet enough to create a Christmas mood and fresh enough to wear it on cool summer evenings. The perfume definitely lean masculine, but could also be worn by confident ladies. The bottle is a masterpiece in itself, and on an offer the price is more than good, especially considering the quality. This was an easy 10/10 from this Black Friday for me!

Arabian night with apples

Oily but rich,
old school but itchy.

Saffron bomb, almost a cliche with it’s strong leather, spices & rose presence. But it’s the apple that saves it with savory notes. So there is an intrigue.

Yeah it gives golden ear Middle-Eastern vibe, it’s heavy and rich. Silk Road and cinnamon. Vanilla and nutmeg. Lasts very well. For me it definitely lacks the unique artistic qualities but it’s a decent scent for someone who doesn’t take risks and wears a suit ;)

Nefs? No, rather Scirocco for me

The Scirocco is often compared with the Nishane Nefs and yes, there are definitely parallels.
Nevertheless, I find the Scirocco more pleasing. It has more of this fruity, almost slightly tangy character, especially at the beginning. It's also a little less spicy and doesn't play up the rose as much.

The fragrance actually starts with a really cool blend of apple and orange. There is also a hint of rose, but it is subtle and delicate. You can also sense a certain kind of spiciness and a woody character.

After a while, the spiciness becomes more and more apparent.
The saffron becomes more present.
However, the saffron is supported by cardamom and nutmeg, as well as a hint of cinnamon.
This mix of spices is really pleasant and has an oriental feel to it. The rose is still present, but it is never too strong or overwhelming.
Furthermore, there are generally slightly leathery impressions, but they are really subtle for me. So if you don't like leather, I think you'll still like it here.

It ends with a slightly sweet finish. The classic tonka bean is used here once again. Plus some vanilla and amber. The really subtle leathery impression is also still present here, as well as something woody.

The performance is good.
It lasts well and also projects well.

Wonderfully interwoven

For some time now, I've been trying to smell the individual fragrance notes when I get to know new fragrances. It's also a lot of fun and I'm extremely happy when I recognize individual notes correctly. I also love fragrances that are designed in such a way that the individual notes can be easily recognized in the course of the fragrance! For me, none of this is the case with Scirocco (at least so far). Sure, at the beginning I recognize a fruity note, here and there something spicy, a little sweetness and and and... But I don't manage to pick out individual notes. And what can I say? In this case, I think it's great!

The fragrance is so fluid and the individual notes just harmonize perfectly with each other! You can smell one direction every now and then, but it's never alone, it can always be seen and perceived in the context of the fragrance as a whole.
Simply a total work of art that needs every component to be perfect!
Longevity and sillage are great for me! Easily perceptible for 10 hours.

The bottle is definitely on my wish list!
