Cheirosa '91 Sol de Janeiro 2025

My dear friend bought this for me for the holidays. I was so impressed. Of all the SDJs, I'd say this is the least gourmand leading, but since it's SDJ there is still that element, without a doubt.

My friend knows I love rose scents, and since this is a fresh, sort of juicy rose, and not a powdery one, it's perfect for me. Now that it's spring, I'm reaching for this a lot. I don't think that I'd actually wear this in the hottest days of summer, because it's still just too sweet for that, but it's really nice.

I can also see myself layering this with Lush Guardian of the Forest to make it a bit more earthy and green.

I typically am not drawn to rose scents, but this one has changed my mind about that just a little bit. Cheirosa '91 is a beautiful blend of Floral, Tangy, hints of wood, nuts and something sweet.

On first smell, I was initially hit with the smell of rose and passionfruit. The passionfruit being much stronger than the rose but paired together they balance each other out. The dry down definitely shows more of its sweet side, being a lot tamer on the nose and more floral forward. I can smell the honey, sandalwood and pistachio as it dries. Faint but delicious, nonetheless.

I think it really steers it away from being a "grandma" smell, the thing I was worried it would be. It's not overly floral, despite having its heart notes being Magnoli and Pink Rose. There is a brief smell of something powdery from the Magnolia, not overwhelmingly so but it's a nice ouch.

The sweetness isn't juvenile either, it's definitely something that is gourmand in a more subtle way.
Overall, this is a wonderful addition to the Cheirosa line. Definitely fits in at home but a more unique and stands out amongst the other scents of theirs. I could easily see myself wearing this day to day or recommending it to others to try.

I like the body spray from the range the most. You can mainly smell roses and passion fruit. The scent is sweet, as you would expect from a body spray. I use the fragrance for my hair. Especially the rose scent lasts a long time. Unfortunately, like the other fragrances from Sol de Janeiro, it is a bit too youthful for my taste.
