Artificial grape and leather

I don’t know how Prin managed to do it, but he accurately recreated the artificial grape flavoring we all know and love and put it in a fragrance, and it is delicious. To be a little more in-depth, this fragrance opens up with a blast of that grape flavoring scent I just described, plus a really soft sueded leather that doesn’t really make itself too apparent until the dry down. Specifically, the grape featured reminds me of a grape Frootie roll. The grape lasts the entire way through the fragrance, but is way less intense later on compared to the beginning. Still, it’s impressive that it still manages to last the length of the fragrance, because the fragrance in and of itself lasts quite awhile. Due to its longevity, and the leather, I find this fragrance to be really nice for autumn. The leather really darkens the fragrance nicely for the season, and it’s longevity means it’s not a weakling for the cold months either. An easy recommendation, but try before you buy.

Nice fruity candy vibe

Sampling Strangers Parfumerie Magenta Pop, which is a great name for its pink, sugary, poppy, semi-floral character, featuring a mix of grape, blueberry, mandarin orange, caramel, cinnamon, rose. Its main concept is that of candy, but it’s restrained, and fairly well-rounded, starting out sharper but drying down fairly quickly to a more harmonious mix. I’ve smelled some candy-type fragrances before, but this one does a very nice job while not being completely spellbinding. In fairness, I think candy—particularly sugary rock candy, probably the category that best fits with Magenta Pop—is a difficult concept to translate to fragrance, and I think that this does a very good job of creating the concept with fruit and caramel notes while also having a healthy variety of other notes to have a rounded effect.

The magenta for sure is popping!

I love the color purple, and I do love delicious scents that smell purple. I mean, I could write poems to Dior's Poison, the ultimate purple grape juice :D

Magenta Pop is more playful younger sister of Poison. Grapes, honeycomb, wine, tobacco, spices - all of it swirling and popping into your face as a purple firework!

I am obsessed, I am down with magenta fever! So, so, so, good!

Prin Lomros: The Willy Wonka of Modern Perfume

After the initial sizzle of grape Pop Rocks, this scent transitions to an addictive blend of grape bubblegum, powder, smoky incense, and clean musk. The long list of notes implies a boozy, almost medicinal scent, but to my nose, the "magenta" notes lean more purple than pink, with grape, blueberry, and iris dominating, and bits of golden honeycomb, tobacco, and amber shining through. I imagine this is how it smelled when Willy Wonka's Oompa Loompas "juiced" Violet Bauregarde after she became a blueberry. "Violet, you're turning Magenta... Pop!"

Is it pop? I dont know.

I've been assaulted by some many notes at once that would could say it has some rhythms. Is it a bad thing? NO. It does work, and work well! It's a vivid scent, always moving between tobacco notes, leathery notes, and then fruits, and then gourmand notes, and flowers, and animalic. It doesn't stay still for a moment, it keeps moving and moving and moving... and it never gets boring! God, I love it!
