Wasabi weirdness
Such a strange scent.
This starts out fresh and bracing, green, vegetal, I think they captured the wasabi note really well. It's spicy and piquant, but not hot like chili or black pepper, the spiciness feels cold. Smells a bit similar to ginger in my opinion, but greener.
Underneath the wasabi lays a powdery, sweet floral scent of vanilla, fluffy white musk and light pink roses.
A bit dissonant maybe, but I'm fine with that, it's interesting and kind of nice.
But then something happens on my skin and it turns into a musty, unpleasant mess real quick. Kind of soapy, kind of dirty and stale. A misshapen blend of sharp elemi and indolic jasmine maybe? I don't know, but I definitely don't like this phase.
And then after a few hours, as if nothing ever went wrong at all, I'm left with a creamy, soft, sweet rose scent with only the lightest touch of spice. Nice enough, but not worth the wait.
Wabisabi is a unique scent that takes some turns over its duration, I'll give it that. But maybe something simpler, without the indolic mid phase, would have been more pleasant. I hope some others houses will try their hands at a better wasabi perfume, because this is not it.
