Unespected
I'm really amazed with this perfume, I received a sample after an order and I didn't have high expectations. It begins with very rich spices, reinforced in the center with mainly sandalwood and papyrus, to then arrive at a base, which gives stability and strength to the perfume itself, thanks to the classic vanilla and tonka bean combo, enriched however by the tobacco flower (which it's a note you don't see often) and musks. all in all I have to say that I really like the perfume even if I don't know if I would buy an entire bottle.
As always I advise against blind buy and see you next time :)

Oud in Noble Measures
When you spend over €200 on a perfume (and not even 100ml), the overall package has to be spectacularly good to leave you with zero regrets. House of Oud already impresses visually and tangibly. What flacons! What amazing eggs! But the most important aspect of a perfume remains its content. Fortunately, the scents I have been able to smell so far are also convincing. Not quite like the packaging. But that would be presumptuous. “Golden Powder” reminds me, for example, very much of some other Oud favorites mentioned further down. However, it has a very special, silky-golden warm aura that could make it an ideal autumn signature.

A little like “Oud Wood Light” might smell, “Golden Powder” is simply incredibly easy to enjoy and soothing. Very warming, very delicious, very casual despite its extremely high quality. A cozy blanket between trust and desire. Expensive but wonderful. There are surely cheaper variants that seem very similar at first glance. But here, the blend is so rounded and fine, the edges so smoothed out, and all transitions perfected, that it should stand out from any competition. Not a scent to learn how real Oud smells. But one to learn to love the often musty and aggressive agarwood. A vanilla oud full of gentleness, sunshine, and sand.

Flacon: a golden luxury egg
Sillage: very subtle and close to the skin, Oud at its most comforting side
Longevity: 8-9 hours - but becomes very quiet towards the end

Conclusion: a maximally delicate Oud cream - a (expensive) banger for autumn!

The Breath of the Desert
What a beautiful scent you are,..Golden Powder!
So sensual, warm, and very sensitive.
Yes,...one can certainly say, very successful.
Cinnamon plays a big role here, already very present at the opening.
It runs like a guiding thread through the perfume.
Golden Powder starts very quietly, not loud or stormy.
It is more like a whisper that becomes louder and clearer.
In the heart note, which comes after a few minutes, the Guaiac wood slowly reveals itself.
Very warm and flattering.
In the base note, it becomes increasingly smoky and subtly sweet.
Vanilla, musk, labdanum, a pinch of coumarin, and smoky tobacco flowers complete the work.

The sillage is very well done, not too loud and not quiet.
What happens with Golden Powder, in my opinion, is that it intensifies with an increase in body temperature.
I always call that "cooking up".

The longevity is between 10 to 12 hours, depending on dosage and wearer.

The bottle speaks for itself.
It is very unusual and artistic.
The fragrance is located in the upper part of the bottle and can be dosed excellently.
They all look very mystical and mysterious lined up.
They have something!

The good Golden Powder has something else to offer, namely a fragrance twin.
It comes from the family of Kalemats.
Also known as Kalemat or Black Kalemat.
A striking similarity, in my opinion.
The difference, as I feel, lies in the composition of the fragrance materials and the quality.
Kalemat is very present, whereas Golden Powder appears more subtle and refined.
The price is also not insignificant,...or???

Conclusion
A very, very sensual, warm, and attractive scent.
With a healthy dose of sexiness in the bottle.
It could soon be at the top,...let's see!

Warmer Kuschler auf den 2. Blick
It wasn't easy with us. Twice you got lost in the mail as a sample. Only on the third attempt did you finally arrive at my place, as a decant. Maybe you knew that was necessary, you rascal.
During the first test on my wrist, you were immediately set aside again. Unremarkable, then there were those department store fragrance notes and oud, nothing I would like. So, either you didn’t want to be tested by me at all, or I was having a really bad smelling day. In any case, you were just sitting there, as a decant, ready to end up in the souk. At some point, I decanted a sample for someone and got another whiff of you. Strange, it doesn’t smell that bad at all, I thought. I left you alone - until today. Now you were allowed to be sprayed timidly at first, then I applied more generously, letting your notes express themselves on me. The opening, yes, hmm, woody, spicy, papery (I must think of papyrus). Then the vanilla danced in, and that was it - I liked you. The woodiness recedes, I don’t smell any oud anywhere. You are powdery and your spiciness becomes balsamic. You come closest to an amber scent.
I don’t find you gourmand, despite the vanilla. Sweet, yes, but not exaggerated and definitely not sticky. You develop a very pleasant sillage in the medium range, just right, and you hold that well. I feel comfortable with you. What was it then the first time? Did I spray too little, do you need a proper amount to unfold your splendor? In any case, it was good for us that you found your way to me only as a decant, because as a sample you would have been passed on way too quickly.

A Bit of Oud, a Bit of Warmth, a Bit Too Little
My first encounter with a fragrance from "The House of Oud"
A dark evening, cool wind, I head out with the new Golden Powder for the first mulled wine of the year.
Actually the perfect occasion for this scent.
No, this first fragrance date was not a success.
Friday, meeting friends for high tea, okay, let's give it another try. Again, it couldn't convince. What's going on here? Hailed and the pyramid looks good too.
Now it's Saturday afternoon and it gets an intimate date for two in the reading chair: okay, I give up.

To elaborate on the headline:
Yes, a bit of oud, yes, a bit of wood, yes, a bit of sweetness, yes, a few spices and a bit of powder.
But unfortunately always "a bit" is in the end simply -too little-
It lacks depth, it lacks strength, it lacks volume and it lacks golden powder.
S/H for the brand is poor and the bottle can't save it.

Unfortunately, we will part ways. There are enough alternatives with this, actually great, fragrance pyramid.
For someone who is very, really very cautious with oud: yes, give it a try.

No golden egg anymore :-)

Obvious dupe of Xerjoff's Bouquet Ideale, 90-95% identical. But this might be better value as BI has bad performance. Feminine, non-summer.

Very smooth and soft woody vanilla fragrance, the name does represent the fragrance perfectly.

Nutty Vanilla, not too sweet nor heavy. Very soft and cozy with tender Sandalwood and THOO’s signature Musk. Warm, enveloping blanket.

Not too sweet, spicy warm, woody vanilla, cinnamon oud scent. It's really well done. Perfect for Christmas.

It gets on my nerves right away because it’s the blueprint of oriental niche fragrances: Arabic spices, oud, resin, musk.

For me, it's also similar to Arabesque. Oud save the King is also in there. Overall, a lovely winter scent, but not particularly strong.
