Gorgeous
Cassiopea was an impulsive airport duty free purchase but it's a scent that was love at first sniff. This is one that I think fans of Xerjoff Dama Bianca may enjoy because Cassiopea has the same fruity-meringue plush pillowy feeling of Dama Bianca, but unlike the Xerjoff, Cassiopea is undercut and supported by a nice current of clean-robe softness too. It almost gives it expensive shampoo vibes and I mean that in the best way possible.
I see this marketed as unisex but I have a hard time imagining this on a man. To my nose this is an unabashedly feminine fragrance that would work well for a bride and more formal events, but I think it also could be a signature scent for some as it's a fragrance that can be worn year round. Performance and longevity are both good, though I do find it eventually dims to a skin scent (which I'm not mad about but I know that bothers some people.)
I don't always comment on packaging but here, I must. The presentation from Tiziana Terenzi for this line is incredible and Cassiopea may just be my favorite bottle design in my entire collection. Luxurious doesn't even begin to describe the way it feels in the hands. Honestly one to pick up as much for the bottle as the gorgeous juice inside.
Eta: My unabashed love for this continues. However I wanted to update though as I've gotten to know Cassiopea more. I perhaps redact the comparison to Dama Bianca. Cassiopea is soft and fruity yes but the musk in this gives it a very different texture that is sort of hard to explain. It's not a dirty or animalic musk by any means. It is a decidedly clean musk to my nose but there's a quality and, as I said, a texture to Cassiopea that I find a little bit flirty and maybe even a little saucy? In any event if I had a signature scent, I think this would be one of the ones that would qualify as worthy. Pretty and appropriate any time, anywhere I always feel clean, pretty, confident and feminine wearing this scent. Works year round too.
