Tom Ford has long since ceased to be the once highly praised designer house for long-lasting fragrances at well ... acceptable prices. Let's not kid ourselves, many of the fragrances simply no longer perform as they used to, but their prices have not been adjusted to this "downgrade".
Grey Vetiver is one of the fragrances that gets off very well in this area. I don't think this fragrance will offend anyone, but it won't knock anyone's socks off either.
Grey Vetiver is the suit and professional fragrance for me. It works well in the office and also in my free time. The longer I had it, the better I knew how to use it. It works well in midsummer and also in winter. For me - one of those fragrances that you can buy if you want one that you can wear all the time.
Fresh, green, spicy. Anyone who likes vetiver will find it here in its best form, in my humble opinion. Yes, the
Vetiver Eau de Toilette also works if you want to get more ML for your money and like a simpler vetiver. But for me, this one is always a little more rounded and simply a feel-good oasis for the nose.
Now to the title of all this: Grey Vetiver EdP has (in my opinion) become a little weak on the chest. In direct comparison with what the community here says about it, the EdP supposedly performs better, but I have to clearly deny that. The Grey Vetiver perfume is more intense and rounded in my perception, and I perceive the fragrance on my skin for 6-8 hours and on my clothes for up to 48 hours. The EdP smells very similar, but doesn't have the same kick and staying power for me. And yes, I have owned and worn both at the same time to be able to make this comparison.
So if you're willing to shell out the extra "eurons" and also want to stand out a bit more, I think you'll be well served by the Grey Vetiver perfume.
But as always: test it before you regret the blind buy.
In terms of price, there are really few Tom Ford fragrances that I would be prepared to buy new in the store like this, but this one is worth it to me.
