Affordable affair with Lolita L.
The basic structure of this fragrance is extremely close to Lolita Lempicka's very first perfume from 1997. It's a soft mix of iris&rose with distinct underpinnings of licorice. To these are added the indispensable musk and a whiff of patchouli. This might sound heavier on paper than in real life. In fact, "Femme de Varens Sensuelle" is a light, semi-oriental fragrance that lingers with a beautifully powdery delicacy. It floats on the air in winter and makes a lovely present. I was pleasantly surprised to find such a decent fragrance for such a small amount of money. (8 Euros/50ml/Dec. 2014). But, of course, as ever so often with perfumes by Ulric de Varens, the formula seems to habe been copied from another brand.
