Signature scent worthy
Close your eyes and imagine yourself walking in nature before sunset. The sun's rays turn everything they touch into gold, and the sun's touch on your skin is gentle and warm, as if it is caressing you and wants to say that everything is fine now.

Relax and breathe the fresh air, the smell of late summer. You are far from the city, problems and rush, there is no such thing here - only peace and happiness. A light breeze sways the flowers, which are sometimes golden, sometimes not. See how they play with the sun before going to sleep.

And so you lie down among the flowers in the meadow and watch the living world calm down around you, the day is slowly coming to an end: the little birds return to their nests, humming wonderful lullabies, and the sun paints the most beautiful picture in the sky and clouds with warm colors. You think that you have never seen such a beautiful sunset before...

...This is what "Une Nuit à Bali - Fleur des Fleurs / Une Nuit à Bali | Une Nuit Nomade" smells like.

Ylang-ylang, tuberose and jasmine in a creamy base of resin and sandalwood. This beauty was love at first smell. Tuberose is made soft, not sharp as it can be in many perfumes. I guess I don't have to say anything about the ylang-ylang, you know very well why we love it.
I hope that I managed to take you on a mental journey towards peace.

Tropical bouquet
Fleur des Fleurs by Une nuit nomade evokes a walk in a tropical garden at the end of the afternoon, just after the rain, when the flowers are drying under the sun. The opening is very much citrus and white flowers, but the citrus rapidly disappears to fully give the floor to the flowers, with the ylang-ylang and the jasmine dominating the bouquet. The tuberose is certainly there, but not as prevalent as the other flower notes. On the dry-down, a faint vanilla, maybe a little bit of amber or wood, but very, very subdued. Despite being mostly white flowers, it doesn't feel light or airy at all, almost feels heavy because of the base notes, which is not a bad thing, but gives a more mature feeling to the perfume.

It is marketed toward women, and it leans feminine, but I can see a man wearing that. I see the person wearing Fleur des Fleurs as somewhat of a self-assured person, who knows who they are but are optimistic and outgoing, maybe a bit of a dreamer too. A nice daytime perfume, perfect for spring or summer, but a tad too mature of a scent for me, and it leans a bit too feminine for my taste. While it doesn't suit me personally enough to get a full bottle, I really enjoyed the sample I got. However, longevity is moderate at best, 4 hours maybe, and after that only a faint vanilla skin scent remains. Sillage and projection are not too bad in the first few hours, but it's certainly not something that gets too much attention.

Mid-range quality white flower bouquet
On paper, this fragrance is a perfect match for me. I love lush and sweet white florals, and I thought that the grapefruit might provide a nice freshness to it. Which it did, but the overall impression is just... okay? Which brings me to my point.

Having gone through the whole discovery set, I have to say that most of the Une Nuit Nomade perfumes have this sharp synthetic note that bothers me too much to be able to wear them. I am unsure whether this is due to ingredient quality or how they are blended, but they do not feel nice on my skin. For example, this perfume has a lot of similar notes as Nishane’s Tuberoza, but the latter just feels like a more high quality perfume.

Escape Point Bali
"Une Nuit a Bali" is a new natural cosmetics project by Alexandra Cubizolles and Philippe Solas. Both originally come from the musical sphere (he is a Marketing Director, she is an A&R / Artistic Director at Mercury, a label of Universal Music), and they express their passion for Eastern healing methods, biodynamic nutrition, holistic approaches to well-being, life design, and cosmetics in interviews. So it is not surprising that they also present a comprehensive range under the name "Une Nuit a Bali" with their product portfolio - it includes shower gel, body lotion, various oils, and a massage powder as well as a perfume in a 50ml bottle and a 20ml travel size. The as natural as possible, ecological, regionally sourced ingredients are explained in detail on the website, as is their connection to Bali, as a point of longing and memory from shared travels, the moods and scents there.

"Une Nuit a Bali" is a very dense, full, round, voluminous white floral fragrance that revolves around the two central themes of Ylang-Ylang and Jasmine. Its thick milky-white texture conveys an impression of quality and complexity in this very harmonious, rounded, envelopingly soft composition.

From the very first moment, "Une Nuit a Bali" launches into a fruity-floral opening, not thinly sweet and sharp, but powerfully round and milky white, very pleasant and quite powerful. The grapefruit is not sour but fruity-juicy, the restrained bergamot adds a slightly sparkling overtone, and saffron prevents it from tipping into sweetness, reliably rounding it off with a slightly spicy-dark tone. Ylang-Ylang and Jasmine are dominant and very powerful at the center from beginning to end, well-balanced and, despite their loud tone, quite "bearable" due to their rich-rounded expression. The tuberose clearly provides its very welcome counterpart, a construction that I really like. Karine Chevallier, whom I know and greatly appreciate from the Nez à Nez fragrances, has once again done an excellent job here.

The distinctly warm-woody base with plenty of amber and benzoin (I cannot detect oud to save my life, vanilla supports very subtly and warmly) is essentially reached by the fragrance only the next day; its longevity and persistence are phenomenal. The sillage is as well, which is why restraint in dosing is advisable if you do not want to overwhelm the surroundings with this polished white floral freight train.

An interesting, contemporary concept that bridges the cosmetic spectrum from cleansing to care to perfume, attempting to implement it with the best possible natural cosmetic and ecological means, and placing it in the overall context of modern (business) life with high travel activity and the necessity to create or take along islands of beauty, silence, and tranquility. I really like it.

Exclusion Diagnosis
Bergamot? Grapefruit? Saffron? Aha… It starts directly for me with a bouquet of white flowers. Warned by previous comments, I had held back during the application - and was pleasantly surprised. A flattering melange, shifting between floral, fruity, and creamy aspects. With a not to be underestimated portion of sovereign-natural eroticism.

Only after a few minutes do I find dusty saffron. And with a bit of goodwill, a trace of unobtrusive fruit acidity can also be identified, which fits in nicely. Alongside this, something bitter builds up within the first hour, for which I have no explanation. Sharp-rubber-like, but in a floral way. No idea.

Already during the morning, warm amber stretches out its feelers. Apparently, it is moving towards the base with infinite slowness. Unfortunately, Fleur des Fleurs, in return, cannot completely maintain the attractive inner tension of the first two hours, primarily countering the skin-close bitter note (what is that?) with amber-vanilla sweetness, while the tuberose moves towards the candy-like agreeable. In other words: From two centimeters away, Fleur des Fleurs is now somehow nice.

The afternoon is consistently tame. A floral-fruity dominated I-pretend-to-be-amber note drifts leisurely towards vanilla and creamy-smooth sandalwood, of course without ever fully reaching them. Interestingly, I also think of canned fruit. If "oud" is understood as the addition of an acidified wood note, whose perception requires a bit of imagination, that’s fine. Overall, "fine" is the apt expression for the last three-quarters of Fleur des Fleurs. It's a shame that the great start didn’t last a bit longer! Still, a test tip especially for our ladies.

Soooo. Back to the bitter note of the middle part, for which I have no idea of my own. Hmm. I know at least a little about all the listed things. Except for wisteria. In the context of an exclusion diagnosis, I would have to guess, but the information available (not least here on Parfumo!) doesn’t quite fit. I give up. The little tester will move on anyway - maybe someone else will have an idea.

I thank Derailroaded for the sample.

Impressive floral abundance. Surprisingly not overwhelming when lightly applied. Exotic-creamy. A night in Bali must be amazing!

The lord of white blossoms spares no one. It’s hardly more intoxicatingly floral. For men, it’s more of a narcotic.

Fruity, white blooming, gardenia, a bit of lilac, herbal, waxy jasmine syrup. Between "Fath de Fath (1953) (Eau de Parfum)" & "Alchimie".

Great floral-creamy scent with ylang & tuberose. Plus, lots of sweet and warm notes with vanilla & amber and gentle oud. Very nice!
