Tropical chill-out
A beautiful blend of tropical yellow florals with an intense labdanum note and a spicy note akin to cloves. Frangipani and ylang ylang are both equally noticeable. This ylang ylang really shows its fruity, banana-ish side, while the frangipani is more powdery and sophisticated in here.

Everything about this feels very warm, but bright and smooth enough for summer wear. Not for activities like sports or running errands in the heat, but for mild summer evenings, lounging and slow walks. It just feels very relaxed. Due to the very resinous and ambery base it could also easily be worn in autumn. They work beautifully in contrast with the beachy flowers and make this stand out from other tropical florals. Lovely scent.

Olfactory Journey Part 4: The Whisper of the Gods
The latest fragrance in my journey takes me to Bali. The packaging is adorned with a pink Ganesha, the significant deity of Hinduism, the main religion of the Balinese. He sits in a lotus position, with frangipani flowers at his feet. The collected flowers of the tree are offered to the deities as ritual sacrifices.
The scent opens fresh-floral and herbaceous. The frangipani, as the floral guide, is heavily overshadowed by the bergamot. As it develops, ylang-ylang blends into both fragrance notes and ultimately displaces the frangipani for me. Overall, it’s a soft, feminine scent, not boring like some floral fragrances.
Not a subtle fragrance; it makes its way. Pleasant, feminine, suitable for the day or a warm, tropical night, timeless.

Incense Ceremony for the Gods
It fell from my eyes like scales today. For a long time, I couldn't connect with this fragrance, but as it sometimes happens, the recognition suddenly came over me today.
The brand aims - as I understand it - to capture the moods of specific destinations.
“Murmures des Dieux” evokes in me the image of a temple, where a young woman kneels before a statue of a god, placing a flower garland around its neck and lighting an incense stick.
The scent smells quite authentic like an incense stick with a slight frangipani note.
A not-so-fancy comparison: the smell that hits you when you enter a fair trade shop where incense sticks are also sold. Or a gemstone shop. Or from the esoteric corner in the bookstore.
However, it is not extremely smoky, but soft with a very light sweetness, just like an incense stick BEFORE it is lit.
It fits for me with yoga, on a tropical vacation, or as part of a ritual.
The gods whisper when the scent of frangipani, benzoin, and labdanum rises to the heavens.

Tropical feeling without coconut!
My fragrance journey continues with Une Nuit. After some excursions in Oman, we are back in Bali today. Poetically, today's scent is translated as "The Whisper of the Gods" and is said to be a tribute to the Frangipani flower, which is often used in Hinduism as an offering and for decorating the numerous temples, and is therefore also omnipresent in Bali, the "Island of a Thousand Temples."

So much for the background of the scent. But what do I smell? The opening is creamy-floral for me, and the Frangipani is indeed very present from the start. It's very sweet overall, but still pleasant if not overdone.
As it develops, it becomes even more floral when Ylang-Ylang and Hedion with its jasmine note join in, with the first two flowers being significantly more prominent than the jasmine note, creating a pleasant tropical scent and showing: Tropical feeling goes without coconut!

The drydown, in contrast to the previous scent, is quite subtle. I hardly perceive the base notes here; rather, the actual Frangipani-Ylang-Ylang scent simply becomes quieter until it completely disappears, perhaps a touch creamier than before.

In relation to the inspiration and theme, I would have liked to perceive the Elemih resin and the resins from the base more, as that would have strengthened the "temple impression." As it is, I find the scent to be a lovely sweet tropical fragrance for everyday wear.

Great Top Notes, Rest is Old-Fashioned
Most Une Nuit Nomade fragrances have a certain quality reminiscent of world shops or health food stores.
With the branding, this is certainly intentional. This one is a bit different.

First, the top notes are beautiful. Creamy, well-groomed, slightly floral, and luxurious.
But then the floral notes take over, becoming heavy and stuffy. A bit too old-fashioned and overpowering for my taste.
The sillage is, in my opinion, noteworthy, but when it comes to notes that you don't like, you are also less sensitive.

In the dry down, it becomes softer and creamier and sweeter again. Here I tolerate the bouquet, but I'm not a fan.

8/10. This is a quite delicate and bright tropical floral. It opens with frangipani, held aloft by ylang-ylang and bergamot, tempering the floral.

I assume this is based primarily on Frangipani as I'm unfamiliar with it, but: its creamy, slightly resinous, floral and has a woody funk.

Complete redefinition of the old exciting MdD from 2016 (back then with fennel and fenugreek) into a creamy white flower.

Opens very floral compared to the 2016 version, with a later sweet-smoky undertone before the white flowers fade away creamy-soft.

Here, frangipani is the defining scent. The rest serves to round it out and support it. It has a subtly sweet finish. Works almost all the time.

Subtle tropical vibes. Elegant, delicate, and the flowers nestled in a beautiful base. Despite the labdanum and musk, a clean finish.

One of my favorite perfumers transports me to the South Seas. Creamy frangipanis for a tropical night. Delicate + vanilla-powdery. A dream!

I always find frangipani tricky. But this scent is quite lovely. Delicate, sweet floral powder and a citrusy hint of vanilla.
