Interesting: Cool and Metallic with Cologne Water Vibes in the Opening

It was also in the Pafory calendar and somehow it is cool and metallic, slightly herbal, if not a bit musty, but more in the way that wet plants become slightly wilted, yet still smell acceptable. And in the opening, I had Cologne Water 4711 vibes from my childhood. In the dry down, it dries down and becomes more woody, but I can still detect the slightly stale floral water. For me, it aligns with the green DNA of Jardin sur le Nil by Hermes. So, I don’t actually dislike it; it does undergo a positive transformation. It’s something different for me and it is indeed interesting, and even at the very end, the mustiness gives way to a beautiful rose. If it behaves the same way on the skin, I definitely find it worth giving it a chance. The first impression is deceiving. Mea culpa Vegan Musk, you’re not so bad after all ;-) It feels like being in a room full of people where the handsome men stand out and get all the attention, while in the back stands an Adrian Brody type who initially gets overlooked because of his pronounced facial features, slight hooked nose, dimples, and very defined jawline. Slightly bushy eyebrows... and then you realize this guy has more presence and charisma than the pretty boys around him, with edges and character, neither 4711 nor 0815. That’s the Adrian Brody as a fragrance for me. It may sound strange, but that image was in my mind throughout.

Synthetic Fruit, not much happens here.

As a child, I ate tons of blackcurrants in my grandma's garden, and she also put the wonderfully fragrant leaves in the tea... I would recognize the scent of blackcurrants anywhere... Here, I don't smell them.

What I smell - for the second time in a fragrance from the Pafory Advent Calendar - is a quite nice synthetic peach a-la Les Plaisirs Nature - Pêche Jaune. Only in the first fragrance - which is AzureBlush - is there this cool twist to the wonderfully spring-like cheerful peony. In "Vegan Musk," there is also a tendency towards a floral direction, but it is more of a tendency than a plot twist. Only in the drydown does the fruity note, which is supposed to correspond to the blackcurrants, disappear, leaving a pleasant ambered shimmer on the skin.

I find "Vegan Musk" okay, I would also use up the sample, but it is not a candidate for purchase and also not a "Maybe," because you can get this vibe much cheaper.
