A Good Start to the New Year

Recently, I heard about a new flanker from the 'Born in Roma' line and was really curious, as I have liked all of them so far, and I must say, I was not disappointed.

First of all, it is of course a designer fragrance, so one shouldn't expect a creative scent profile here. It has a simple DNA and smells to me like a mix of 30% Valentino Uomo Born In Roma Intense and 70% Le Beau Le Parfum. The scent is beautifully simple and has a very elegant, pleasant coconut, which is by far the most prominent note. The 'Signature' lavender is also present as always and harmonizes wonderfully with the woods. In my perception, there is also vanilla, but it could just be the coconut.

Unfortunately, there is also a negative side to the fragrance, and that is the synthetics, but of course, it's a designer, mass production; anyone expecting something natural shouldn't look in the designer segment. For me, it's definitely a recommendation, and going to the local perfumery and just smelling it has never hurt, right? :)

I will start now, I find that the new Valentino fragrance is nothing new when we speak in general. Because the combination of coconut in the base notes and cardamom with lavender is only something extraordinary in the Valentino line, elsewhere it does not take the place of something brand new. In the same direction, there are a lot of perfumes, but in the first seconds of smelling it, it reminded me of something different in my thoughts. It resembled more the scent of a shower gel, something like from Axe, always those synthetic ones. Therefore, it was also immediately clear that the fragrance itself did not smell that high-quality, but just as synthetic as those €3 shower gels that are sometimes good for the skin. Then comes the dry-down, but what could it resemble next?...

The combo of coconut, amber wood, and lavender makes something clear. Namely, that it smells 90% like Jean Paul Gaultier "Le Beau Le Parfum". If you have tested the other fragrance a few times, you recognize it immediately like the shot of a gun. In my opinion, cardamom does not change much. I would have had more respect if the part before the dry-down had lasted longer.

My last words: I think it is NOT worth the price, one should rather choose something better instead of getting this unhealthy shower gel scent in their hands for over €120. There are cheaper alternatives... Not exactly dupes, but as I said, also fragrances that resemble, except for those from JPG of course, if it also has the same price.
